Broody!!

I have a beautiful 6 month old baby girl! and both my partner & I have decided that we don't want big age-gaps.

I absolutely LOVE being a Mummy, getting on really well breast-feeding too (after lots of pain!) DD is such a character and just think she would love having a brother or sister to play with when she gets more mobile!

The only hold-back is that we are currently living with my parent... its short for space now so having another would be selfish right now. but i think when we do get a place (on the housing list at the mo) i want to try!

Does anyone have experience with close age-gaps and how do/did you cope both emotionally and just the day to day with a small child and newborn?

i'm not silly, i know times will be hard but i love the thought of a big family. i turned 22 yesterday, there isnt a rush i just love being a mummy! I work PT, due back in aug... and currently trying to start my own business so eventually i could work from home.

I have around a two year gap between my eldest 2, which was perfect...I was able to enjoy my first born, getting pregnant when he was around 18 months, and settle him into playgroup just as no. 2 arrived, so I still got special time with no 2....no.1 had his special time when baby was sleeping. They are now 8 and 10, and both the best of friends (most of the time!...brothers and sisters)...but the gap was close enough that they could play together..and still do...but wide enough for me to be able to enjoy them as individual babies...I now also have an 18 month old, and found out yestrday I am expecting again...another 2 year gap...so will have my hands really full!! You just have to do what feels right for you...you will never have enough money to keep up with the Jones', but as long as you give your children your time and love, they will thrive!

There are 16 months between my two, I found it really hard with them when they were little, I just didn't have enough energy for them. Especially with the lack of sleep that comes with a baby and then the demands of a toddler on top of that!! It's not for the feint hearted!!! I guess I found it harder though as I was doing it on my own... I'm sure you will be fine with the right support, and I suppose it's different if you have them close on purpose!!!

They are 9 and 8 now btw
