36 day cycle

is this normal? It's bloody annoying as I just seem to be waiting around for weeks for the few fertile days and as dp is away a lot with work if we miss the "window" it's another 5 weeks to wait as I tend to ovulate on about day 20-22. Am I just unlucky or should I be talking to my GP about it?

I think its on the upper end of what is considered normal. I have a 35 day cycle so I know what you mean about the waiting around, feel so jealous of those who get to try once every 4 weeks or less! That said I did manage to get pregnant with DS, although it took nearly a year. Now trying for a second, 6 months in and no joy yet!

Have you just come off the pill? I came off in Jan and seem to have an 8-week cycle at the moment. Last period 17 March, so waiting to see what happens! I'm hoping the 8-week thing is only temporary while everthing settles down IYSWIM.
It is bloody annoying though. I was waiting for another period before we started TTC becasue I wanted to be able to date it properly, but in the last few weeks I've just thought "sod it" and just got on with it . But, like you, I do wonder how I'm ever going to get pregnant if i only have 6 chances a year....
Considering trip to dr, but have a feeling they'll just tell me to wait a few months. Has your cycle always been like this?

No i've been off the pill now for about 6 months. Fell pregnant in November but miscarried in January. I have a 5 year old son and I'm sure when we were trying for him my cycle was anything between 28 and 32 days. knitting I totally feel for you. Your 8 weeks make my 36 days seem like a breeze.

I'm 37 now too so maybe that doesn't help. Also I have extremely light periods. Sorry to go off on a tangent but I'm just wondering if there's any connection xxx
