Last month I had the longest period I have had in years - 33 days. Usually I am somewhere between 26 and 29 days.

I am on day 29 now and so far no AF, when would you test?

Anyone had their periods get longer? Or do you think this is just one of those blips that we only notice now because I am obsessed with everything TTC related.

I only have one clearblue digital here that's why I haven't been POAS like mad! I also don't feel pregnant, although I would love that more than anything.

Mine have got longer since coming off the pill - anywhere between 28 and 36 days for me.

Seeing as you know your cycles can be as long as 33 days I'd leave off testing til past then if I were you.

Tis a pain in the arse wondering though, I agree - but a neg on an early test won't tell you anything anyway.

Hmmm, I'm definitely on team Late and Rarely when it comes to testing, but I think in your situation I might well test.

Fx :)

My cycles have become longer since TTC. Consultant said it's because of having more frequent sex. It's so annoying though because like you I don't really know when my period is late or when I could be testing. Also seems to add nearly a whole week onto the already painfully drawn out two week wait, gah!

Because of my stupidly random cycle lengths my period is due somewhere between today and Sunday. Throw into the mix a couple of days of spotting last cycle and I am totally at a loss as to realistically expect movement on that front!

If you test at the earliest time you might expect your period would you believe the result? Do you know when you ovulated? If you are 14 days past your ovulation date then it would probably be feasible to POAS wouldn't it?

Wishing you lots of luck.

"My cycles have become longer since TTC. Consultant said it's because of having more frequent sex"

Wow, interesting. Did she explain why? It does seem to be quite a common phenomenon.

I was surprised by it too. He didn't explain why (he didn't exactly have a great bedside manner). I have PCOS so I actually think it has more to do with that though before TTC my cycles had always been 28/29 days so maybe he is right.

Quodlibet · 02/05/2011 13:36

poutintrout, if you chart your temps you can see when you ovulated at least - because luteal phrase is always the same length the two week wait won't be longer, it will be that your cycle is longer in the first part eg you ovulated later than normal. (you probably knew that, right?)

Charting has restored some sanity to me with my weird cycles, otherwise right now I'd be thinking I was a week late at day 36 when actually I'm 14 days post ovulation.

Thanks Quodlibet have been meaning to temp but have been too lazy - read otpimistic each cycle - to bother to buy a thermometer. Think that it would be a good idea though!
