i have heard of evaporation lines, but this was a very solid second blue line that appeared- as bold as the initial single negative line.

i did the test 48 hours ago, and put in waste paper bin i bathroom. i then retested this morning and wanted to compare the two lines, so fished itout of bin Grin.

the second test was negative, by the way, but just wanted to ask about the first test changing.

so... is an evap line always feint? do tetss often change after several hours?

Unless a line appears during the period of time indicated on the test it is NOT a BFP. So no, a BFP can't "appear", although a line indicating nothing at all might show up.

This whole "fishing the test out of the bin" thing is very silly. Why would you need to compare two negative tests?

Evaporation lines can be dark and clear in colour unfortunately. And yes tests can look different hours later.

Then again sometimes in the very early days of pregnancy I get evap lines (ie positive appearing after test time expired) But the lines appear quicker and darker as the days go on, until finally the lines appear within the time limit. However I cannot condone early testing, it is just stress inducing due to evap lines raising false hope etc...... Confused

spidookly, i am fully aware that both tests were negative! i wasnt asking if the first test was pos- i know it wasnt- just curious about whether or not tests change, as i dont have any exp of this as d1 and 2 arrived without any effort. i was lucky.

i did think that i saw a feint second line on today's test, and suddenly remembered the earlier test was in the bathroom bin, so wanted to compare to see if that had a feint line too, that i mightve missed.

galwaygirl, i know, i know, i'm just going to be an impatient TTC-er!! will try to be more patient next month. btw, i am due on today- so not testing that early
