Around the time i was ovulating i had the most horrendous tugging pain on my left side this month..just wondered when you get ovulation pains like that is it too late and have you already ovulated or is that the perfect time..fingers crossed again for me this month xx

difficult to say (the only way to really tell is to have a scan mid cycle).

FWIW: I get strong ovulation pain from abut two days before i get an LH surge. The LH surge is detected in the mornings by my clear blue monitor.

The only thing you can really do is have sex a lot from a couple of days before your ovulation due date, and carry on through to the day after your LH surge, and perhaps even the day after that.

Even this, as you probably know, guarantees nothing.

Horrible isn't it :( I have raked over all the scientific stuff but what I'm
realising is other than knowing when I ovulate we can't control our fertility (or for some of us, keep hold of a pregnancy) ie that ther is no rhyme or reason.

I've been told to shag every day from the day you see ewcm.

I think different people feel different parts of the ovulation process, so there is no rule of thumb. I tend to get ovulation pain the day after my OPK positive and the day before my temp rise, so I must be feeling a different part of the process to hairylights who feels something before the LH surge.
