puzzled by prolactin

I came off microgynon, which I'd been using without taking many breaks for about 12 year, on the 1st of January. No period or sign of ovulation yet - my blood tests show prolactin slightly high and FSH normal. Anyone out there have a clue what's going on? Because I don't and I don't get to see my GP until early May.

Slightly high prolactin is neither here nor there. Lots of things can make it high, including stress.

Mine was 2000 rather than the normal limits of 0-500 but I have a pituitary tumour.

Ask for the prolactin to be repeated.

mine was high due to stress. also you need to make sure that you have been awake for at least 3 hrs before they take blood for prolactin, otherwise results could be incorrect (happened to me)...

Thank you A1890 and lilly13. I've just had a prolactin repeat test, so we'll see what that says.

Still no sign of AF, which isn't helping with the stress.
