Cheap pack of pregnancy tests from amazon. Do they work? So confused!

Hello all. My period is one week late so I did a dip stick test from a cheap pack of 25 'ultra early' tests that I bought on amazon. It reads negative but I feel a bit pregnant (sensitive to smells, absolutely desperate to sleep all the time). Should I just trust this test or do a mote expensive one? Does anyone have positive or negative stories about these tests? Would really appreciate some opinions!

I don't think price affects how good tests are, but you do sometimes get false negatives (even with expensive tests).

If you have 25 of the things then do it again!

Or just wait a while and it will become obvious

Thanks trillian you are right - I will just leave it a day or two and try it again if still no period. I've just read a few online reviews where people have said these particular tests didn't work for them so not sure how accurate they are. Most likely not pregnant though I should think!

They are the same tests gp surgerys often use. The other ones just have fancier packaging. They will say what sensitivity they go down to though and it sounds like you've got the most sensitive. As trillian says just recheck in a day or two... I know, I know... It is very hard to be patient! I was just the same. But don't worry about the tests - the cheaper ones will be fine. Good luck!

Ok have capitualated and gone to Amazon to buy some of my own - was trying to avoid becoming a poas addict but never going to happen so might as well try to do it cheaply!

As a related search folic acid came up and they had 90, 400mg tablets for just under £3 - seems very cheap, has anyone else tried them and are they ok?

Lilliana- head to Tescos or wilkinsons- they have 90 folic acid tabs for £1something. The folic acid there is exactly the same as posher brands, and mush better if you end up taking buckets of it while TTC!

On my last pregnancy the Amazon cheapies were pretty rubbish. I got a faint positive when I was a few days late, and got a Clearblue digital which said 2-3 weeks pregnant. I kept using the Amazon ones through six-seven-eight weeks (don't ask why!) and all I ever got from them was a very faint line.

Thanks liliana - tbh I'm not sure how I feel as not quite in the right place for a new baby in terms of work and finances, so not sure how I feel about the whole thing! Need to know either way really in order to get my head round it all. As I think I am at least 5 days or so overdue and there's not even so much as a faint line I'm guessing my period is just a bit late but I'm not pregnant.

Hello thought id add my two pence worth. I have the same but from ebay ultra early that picks up 10 not 25 what ever they mesure lol. I was pregnant but they didnt pick it up for over a week after af was due. I kind of knew i was as it just feels different sadly mc'd but if i have the thought again ill defo be opting for a different sort.

washngo Hope you get an answer either way - it's the not knowing I a hate too.

Tesco was hopeless btw - no thermometers - how am I supposed to obsess about my cycle without a thermometer!!??!

I had the same strength ones as toddle (10 whatever they are, ultra sensitive) and gave me a line on the day af was due. I don't the lines are as strong as on the more expensive tests, but as we all know, a line is a line !

i bought a 10 pack offline and each say a BFN, last one taken this morning then bought a clearblue this afternoon and tested and got a faint cross (pregnant) so will test again tomorrow if in doubt keep testing xx

I used these type of cheapies when I got my BFP with DS3 - at only 9 DPO so I can thoroughly recomend them! Theres no need for expensive clear blues etc eitehe - Superdrugs own brand have a great reputation.

Well I just did a clearblue test and still as clear as mud! Had a ridiculously faint (as in only visible from certain angles) line. Been here before with the faint lines and ended in miscarriage so I'm guessing this could be similar situation.
