Keziahhopes · 09/07/2011 11:11

Womanly - wow, 3 rounds that is so fantastic for you!!

Scrummybumb · 09/07/2011 11:41

womanly that is great news about 3 rounds. Sorry about the second cycle failing [hsad]

Did you all see, they are taking the IVF postcode lottery to the commons for debate again. Let's see if it makes any difference this time around.

Lucy I can fully understand why you would feel anxious. I do just for going to docs to talk about this stuff, which is strange as I don't normally feel anxious about talking to doctors

lissy how re-assuring that your body is doing what is should do. Keeping my FX for you.

italian your donor will show up soon. I wish I could offer donation, but seen as they won't want old wrinkly eggs, I have no chance [hwink]. Jim had a strong week this time, didn't he? Soooooo glad Melody is gone and I don't like Natasha one bit.

I'm 6DPO and just doing the waiting game.

Italiangreyhound · 09/07/2011 16:27

Scrummy what's the latest on you, honey? Yes, Jim can pull it out of the bag when he needs to/talk the hind legs of a donkey and sell snow to the Eskimos BUT I would not really trust him - and I think that is important.

keziah- I know it's kind of early, but can't you start antenatal care now, given your medical history? At least for some early beta-hcg tests. Sorry, still new to the whole NHS thing.

Sorry not to name check much. HCG went from 13044 on Thursday to 21000 something today. Clinic wants me in for a scan tomorrow, and then I have to wait around for blood test results, in case they want to adjust my meds. Sooooo tired....

Love and chocolate boobs and sticky baby dust to everyone...

Keziahhopes · 09/07/2011 18:47

Lissy - one would think so, but no Gp not interested, can't see community midwife till usual 8 week booking appointment and the obstetrician I saw in Nov at the hospital told the midwife at the hospital who spoke to me to do nothing until 8 weeks. I think they must thing it is a waste of money to do anything earlier. Have just booked a private scan for 6 weeks and for 7 weeks as can't get any private HCG tests to tell me this pregnancy is growing. So glad your numbers are going up - how many weeks are you? What meds are you on? I am on clexane, will have aspirin if get to 8 weeks NHS scan.

lucylookout · 09/07/2011 22:06

scrummy I'm approx 6 dpo too, i'll keep you company in the 2ww.

DS and I are visiting my mum for the we in Norfolk. DH at home tiling. We spent the day on a blustery beach, and after ds went to sleep we watched dirty dancing. What a film

lucylookout · 09/07/2011 22:08

P.s keziah, do you have an EPU at your hospital that you could visit if you wanted without dr's referral?

Scrummybumb · 10/07/2011 12:57

Not quite sure Italian or shall I say, don't really want to admit that I'm feeling really low this week. Shame as I was having such a good couple of weeks. This is just so tiring. I'm dreaming a lot too, which is unsual these days. Have slept a lot this weekend, so I hope the rest is doing me good.

Lucy I like it when I have cycle buddies. Keeping my fingers crossed fr both of us then. Your we sounds lovely.

lissy how did the scan go?

keziah how frustrating. I hope you can relax and enjoy the pregnancy and out the worries behind at least some of the time.

Keziahhopes · 10/07/2011 13:25

Hi Lucy it is at the EPU that I will be having scan in 3/4 weeks time. The consultant has told them to not scan me before due to there being high risk of not seeing a heartbeat before 8 weeks. Had to cancel holiday plans (booked time off work, not booked a holiday - had no holiday all year so really wanted one week away with dh) for this scan as they wouldn't move it the week before but happy to delay it till week 9/10. I would be fine about that if they hadn't told me I need aspirin ASAP as see heartbeat.

So booked private early scan now, problem solved. Not sure if see heartbeat but as had no HCG etc just want some confirmation of some sort if I am pregnant, as full of wobbles now that I am not.

Keziahhopes · 10/07/2011 13:25

Lucy away from tiling and near a beach sounds good Grin. Do you plan to test early?

LissySilver · 10/07/2011 14:39

scrummy- Sorry to hear you're feeling low. Hope you feel better soon. Maybe sit out in the sunshine for a bit to rejuvenate...

Keziah- So when is your private scan going to be?

Lucy- How nice that you were able to get away for the weekend!

Hi Italian! How was Sweden?

AFM, HCG now at 29278 from yesterday's 21975. Rising a bit more slowly now, but I read after 6000 it can take up to four days to double. Had a scan this morning, and it showed one gestational sac with a yolk sac visible, and a second smaller sac underneath, but no yolk sac. Have to wait and see how that one develops, but the first sac was a nice size. Back in tomorrow for bloods, and I suppose I'll have another scan later this week.

Have a restful Sunday!

Keziahhopes · 10/07/2011 16:34

Wow maybe twins lissy. How far were you at scan? Booked one for next sat. And by my dates that is 6 weeks.

LissySilver · 11/07/2011 18:09

keziah- I will be six weeks tomorrow, so I was 5w5d at my scan. Just got the call from clinic. HCG over 33000, progesterone 433, and another scan and more bloods Wednesday.

Where is everyone? It's so quiet! I hope you're all outside, because it's LOVELY outside...

Keziahhopes · 11/07/2011 19:09

Lissy - great HCG numbers - gosh, twins are a very real posibility then Grin We have found a place to get a private scan for Sat when all being well by my date I will be 6+0 weeks. So just a bit after you had your first scan.

Italiangreyhound · 11/07/2011 22:36

Lissy not gone yet. Soon. Wow twins as a possibility, how do you feel? Don't know how I would be feeling but all exciting, whatever happens - one or two, exciting stuff.

What do you think of Posh and Beck's baby name? Harper Seven! I think it sounds like a space ship or something out of the Borg! (Star Trek!).

My hubby said something funny tonight! There was an ad on TV for 'Diet Chef'. They said "It's just what every woman wants." And then they said "We send you seven days' worth of meals."

And hubby added, "... And you can eat them all at once!" Wink

uk.health.lifestyle.yahoo.net/biggest-baby-in-texas-born.htm

"A woman in Texas has given birth to a baby boy weighing 16lb, around twice the average weight of newborn babies in the UK... He was delivered with a full head of hair and the hospital nursery did not have nappies big enough to fit him, Ms Johnson told the Longview News Journal."

Just posted on another thread about the baby's name (Posh and Becks). I think the 7 is something to do with it being lucky and also a religious number (in Hebrew it is the number of perfection, I think) and maybe he played as number 7! But (IMHO) it's a bloomin' daft name! There is a Welsh name that sounds similar, which I think is so much better!

Seren
The meaning of the name Seren is Star
The origin of the name Seren is Welsh

www.babynames.com/name/SEREN

But who am I to tell the Beckhams!

Well just watched another blomin' One Born Every Minute! It's the one where the Thai woman is married to the Italian and they have been together for 20 years and finally had a baby with IVF. Lovely and so sad, and great, yes, I cried.

morning all... I havent been on here for a while but lurk sometimes.

wow keziah and lissy- congrats on BFP. Brilliant news!

italian- nice to see you- hope all is going well and that treatment starts soon!

AFM: twins doing well. 27 weeks on Thursday. No longer taking any drugs etc- and yes Keziah, the clexane does make you bruise! my stomach looked like a rainbow!! For anyone wondering what clinic to go to, like Lissy, I was at ARGC. Great care and treatment but i think their percentage of multiples may be higher than others!

hugs and babydust...!
lawx

lucylookout · 12/07/2011 10:34

Hi law it's nice to hear from you and I'm very pleased your pregnancy is going well. We haven't 'met' but i've always been interested in your stats on the list as we're a similar age. Can I be really nosey and ask why you had assisted conception? I have my first appt at ARGC next week. Can I ask you how many attempts it took, what your fsh was and how well you responded to the drugs. But if I'm asking too many questions just tell me to sling me hook!
Italian I don't know how you do it! I avoid watching anything with pregnancy/labour/newborns like the plague. Re the beckhams, I quite like harper, but seven seems a bit pretentious.
lissy and keziah it's great that things are moving along well. Good that you've got an early private scan keziah, I bet that will reassure you.
I'm ok, although actually I've got pmt and am feeling slightly psychotic in real life, but I think you lot are probably safe Wink
sorry for not namechecking more, but I hope everyone's doing well

Keziahhopes · 12/07/2011 19:59

great news lateatwork.

As for us had really difficult day. Started spotting today. Also had appointment with private gynaecologist we have been waiting 12 weeks for to go over level 1 and 2 tests. Already knew some level 1 results so got clexane already. Found out have; high thyroid, PAIP problem, TH1 problem, high KC (cd 19 and 5), think one other - it all overwhelmed me. Told me what I needed for ivf - eventually got to tell them had bfp but think losing it. So at last getting HCG tests (with a lovely £300 admin fee on top of blood costs as not ivf cycle, oh joy!) but if they not good will confirm the pink spotting of today. Sad So STRESSED.

But got private prescription for thyroxine, prednisilone, ultrogestan (those lovely pessaries) and already on clexane. Really praying got them in time and wed and fri's blood hcg levels are high and rise. Took all of them in car park, including pessaries Blush as hour drive home and it feels every moment is precious right now.

Sort of panicking got bfp a week early!! Gynae said with all those issues so hard to get bfp naturally and stay - if not impossible. Well impossible is what I am aiming for right now!!

rowingboat · 12/07/2011 22:09

Hi all,
sorry not been on here for ages, but there was no internet connection at the holiday cottage.

Lissy that is great news about the hcg levels and the great progesterone, keeping everything going. You sound very cheery and happy just as you should.
Can't wait to hear how your next blood test goes...

LAW lovely to hear from you. Sounds as if it is all going well. Do you know how long you will going before stopping work?

Keziah I'm sorry to hear about the spotting, but happy to hear about the bfp. Spotting is quite normal, lots of the ladies on my other thread had spotting and are still pg. It would be fantastic if you could just sail through this despite all the 'issues'.

Italian I actually quite like the name seven, but I do like unusual names, which aren't just made by giving a normal name very strange spelling like Karrolle or that kind of thing.

Scrummy and Lucy are you into the second week of the 2WW yet - that's the worst.

Hi Carebear and Beginnings, looking forward to hearing how your cycles go.

I had a funny old holiday, quite tradtional, you know, wearing a raincoat on the beach and eating chips. Had an hcg test on Sunday and it is now down to 15!! Whoop whoop! So pleased.
The next test is Sunday and I reckon it will be 0 and I will be able to phone the clinic about the next cycle. I'm half thinking about having a single embryo transfer, which would mean I could afford to go twice if it failed. The success isn't that much lower than having a double transfer. Hmm!
If it were my own eggs I would put a dozen back because of my age, but these are embryos from women in their early to mid twenties.

Italiangreyhound · 12/07/2011 22:46

Keziah so sorry it's been very stressful. Thinking of you, honey,

rowingboat how exciting being able to go twice. Can I check have you had any immunology tests, can't remember.

LAW lovely to hear from you, hope twins will continue growing well.

Lissy all the best.

Carebear, Beginnings and all greetings.

OP posts:
rowingboat · 12/07/2011 23:44

Hi all,
italian I haven't had immunology tests, I did have a full blood test for my first IVF, but the blooming clinic kept the results so I can't google them and see if I am horribly unhealthy. I can't afford immunes and would struggle to afford most of the treatments having spent all my savings. I will just go for the healthy diet and exercise. I have read that the following reduces nk cells, so am going to try - fish oils - purified with no mercury, I've got green tea capsules, red wine capsules and pine bark capsules. Just have to stop eating the fudge I bought on holiday (pained expression)
I will try to take steroids again, although it is hard on top of the other drugs and have been recommended antibiotics by another woman doing IVF.
What about you? Are you considering having tests done?
I know you think your thyroid is a bit on the wonk, hope that can be helped, just for your everyday fitness and quality of life if nothing else.
I'm going to do my exercise bike now - I know it's the middle of the night! [squeak, squeak, squeak] That's the bike, not mice (we do have a mouse though, but it's very quiet)
Speaking of mice, has anyone had mice in their house?

lateatwork · 13/07/2011 00:11

hi lucy!

i have one DD conceived naturally and have had 3 MC- thus the IVF. Sorry to be rubbish, but I have no idea what my FSH was / is... I did have it tested obviously but the number hasnt stuck in my brain- which indicates to me it was probably 'consistent with age!!!' ie not high, not low...
I responded well to the drugs but i was taking a LOT of drugs. I managed 8 blasts, 2 implanted, 6 frosties. I was a little over stimulated at the end.
ARGC was my first attempt at full blown IVF... BUT i did have my eggs frozen in 2005 so went through the first bit of the process then.
Good luck with your appointment with ARGC! I found the whole process exhausting tbh and bloody expensive... but hey I am pregnant so i have no complaints.

Italiangreyhound · 13/07/2011 01:19

Rowing wow fish oils - purified with no mercury, green tea capsules, red wine capsules and pine bark capsules! I will look into it. I hav ehad my throid TSH reduced with drugs and will get aspirin and also something else, maybe! Losing track!

Love to all

LAW how old is your DD?

Love to all
