Month 9 of trying. Anyone else?!

Seems like its taking forever. Very easy to get pregnant last two times but now 5 years later and aged 36, its taking longer!

well i wouldnt worry too much im just turning 20 and it took my partner and i just over a year!
think of it this way, you only ovulate once a month so its one chance every month so you have tried 9 times, it takes me that many goes to hit a bullseye on a dart board.
some people think your chances of pregnancy are better if you just relax and enjoy sex. and have it once every 2-3 days

It would not do any harm now to have some blood tests done by the GP to see if you are ovulating. If you're over 35 and have been ttc for over six months then a visit to the GP is in order.

Thanks Jasminejo24. That makes me feel a whole lot better. I must have very lucky the other times and like you say, nine times isnt much really considering.
Attilathemeerkat I had a lap and dye in january and all fine. Have had previous endometriosis but no sign of it again. Bloods all fine and ov test is bang on each month. I can tell when i am ovulating without the tests as its painful for two days but you just do these things using kits! Only slightly different thing going on is periods have gone from 28 days to 30 to now 32 but ovulation always occurs when it should do depending on what cycle length it is.

Hi jenjins. I have been trying for number 3 for nearly a year now (will be 36 in a few days...) and no sign at all. I have been reluctant to go to the GP due to major head in sand issues but also because I wasn't sure what the deal was if you already have children. Sounds like your GP did some tests?

Yes they checked hornone profile and day 21 progesterone which checks if you have ovulated. All ok with the bloods. My female was happy to do them but did reassure me as have many others, that it took her a year with each of her children but then one try for her third. She was in her early 40s too with her third. It all doesnt really make sense so you just have to keep trying! Yawn!!

Only thing i havent done is had my partners semen tested. Am tempted to next month if this cycle doesnt work. We have never had a problem before so its just a matter of time no doubt....

All the best to you. Using ovulation tests (cheap test strips off Amazon) and having bloods, lap and dye done, reassures me that there is nothing wrong. Maybe have a chat with your GP....

Would be good to know if I am ovulating - must go see GP. Totally agree that it doesn't make sense - should be one of the most basic things in biology but there seems to be very little explanation when things aren't working.

well having a child allways seems random. maybe it follows sods law. you hear of a lot of accidental pregnancy from innefective contraception (or drinking too much), and you also hear of perfectly healthy women in there prime taking a year or 2 to conceive. maybe it really is sods law.
my mom only has me, i was her first try at 27 years old.
im almost 20 and it took me about 14 months.
