The (updated)(again)(again)(again) 'rules' from our Just Shagging Originator for the Viroids:

Maintain a relaxed attitude at all times - drink if you want too, especially on your birthday (or when you've had bad news). Thread precedent dictates if you drink to excess you will get a BFP (but not recommended). (But it does work).

Covet thy husband and enjoy every minute. Shag at every opportunity - shag-capes and awesome superpowers optional.

Keep acronym-age to a minimum! EWCM is now to be referred to as 'pant snot'. Try not to get sucked in by Fertility Friend (at least for a while), but knowing where you are in your cycle and furkling for pant snot is most definitely allowed.
OV is ovulation - I'm allowed to forget what date I've OVd, feel free to join me on that one!

Bunting is to be put out for any small victory, thread-parties are held regularly and hugs are always welcome!

Once you have your BFP, feel free to hang around and share your wisdom and virtual cocktails with the JSers.

Keep us up to date with gossip!

*

Most of these rules are well and truly broken!! But we try to chill - honest

wohoo for the new assertive Josie! I say sing and dance your heart out in the kitchen where he can't hear you... but sing and dance away!

Have pre-warned the OH about the monumental shag-week this month - better to get him warmed up now rather than it come as a surprise in 2 weeks! I hope to come back from our holiday with no suntan at all (hehe) A few days on the coast sounds lovely Nelly - I think it is perfectly acceptable to go on holiday and do some zzzzzzzzzz - afternoon naps are an obligatory holiday activity aren't they?

I'm loving the more positive note to the thread today - bring it on ladies!!!!!
Grin

BamBam21 · 19/05/2011 14:32

Hi everyone!

Good luck for the new assertive Josie! Just keep on smiling and don't let the bitches get you down!Grin

Grin at you pre-warning your OH about shag-week Lucy! I hope it turns out lucky for you.

I'm jealous about your planned break Nelly.Envy The west coast is so beautiful. We're hoping to get a week up the East Neuk in the summer, which is lovely as well, but we'll have to wait and see.

Well DP and I finally got our shag-capes on again last night. Lovely!Grin I don't have much hope for this month though, as we have been sorting ourselves out, but I do feel very sick off and on. I am now officially on the 2WW. Our health drive is also going well, except for a cheeky drink on Tuesday night, but we are getting there!

JosieSmith1 · 19/05/2011 18:00

Glad everyone seems to be having shag-tastic fun! We've totally missed this month's window but we're keeping it up just in case (pun intended) Grin Grin

Bam kudos on your health kick, I can never seem to stick at being healthy

Nelly no news yet but to be honest I'm not too hopeful, still got a week to wait and there might be a second stage interview yet!

Lucy Grin at warning DH about shag-a-thon Grin

OP posts:
NervousNelly · 19/05/2011 21:29

Ah Bambam yes the East Neuk is lovely too! We are very lucky as OH's parents have a house up west that we can use whenever. Unfortunately it's a 5 hour drive so we don't get up that often; but when we do it's nothing but sleep, books, music, hillwalking, jigsaws, and locally caught seafood - bliss :). And maybe some sex too Grin.

Lucy I am trying to pluck up the courage to advise OH of the imminent shagathon here too Grin. I know it shouldn't need courage, but up to now I've tried to keep the mystery, and just cross my fingers he's in the mood. It doesn't work that well Hmm. So now I have to find a way to let him know we need to have a fair bit of lurving in the next 10 days; without making it sound like it's a science experiment!

Got to be in it to win it, Josie ! Don't lose hope yet :)

Having a lovely glass of Wine. I'm so weak Grin. Wasn't going to have one, until OH announced he was opening a bottle. Oh, go on then.....!

Nearly the weekend, woo hoo!!

LucyLasticNeeGrumbler · 20/05/2011 08:27

Delighted that it is FINALLY Friday - been very jealous of Nelly and Bam with the mid-week tipples (I have heard a glass of wine mid-week has very positive health benefits Hmm and are definitely the tastiest of the week) So I'll be doing my all to make up for lost time this evening. Still with AF so I reckon I'm entitled to a guilt-free blowout. Grin

Still got my fingers crossed for you josie - the new positive karma is bound to have rubbed off on them - I hope you get a 2nd interview!

I have decided that this is going to be the month - I am fired up and ready to go - that little egg won't know what's hit it!
(and if it's not then I'm gonna make damn sure we have a good time trying)

Thinking of you through your 2WW Bam - how many days?

to all the other viroids - have a fabulous weekend!

BamBam21 · 20/05/2011 09:50

Morning all!

Yes Lucy, I'm glad it's Friday too. DP has been working really long hours - 12 hour days - and it will be lovely to have him home all weekend. Midweek wine is meant to have positive benefits, but not sure about midweek vodka!Hmm Anyway, enjoy your blowout tonight. We will have a drink tonight, as it's Friday, but at least it isn't practically every night any more!Blush

Nelly your holiday sounds wonderful.Envy Enjoy it all you can before you have a mini-Nelly on your hands!Grin

I have about 12 days of the 2WW to go, but already my boobs are starting to feel a bit tender, and I have that low down grumbly ERTD feeling. Not at all unusual for me, but I will keep my fingers crossed!Smile

LucyLasticNeeGrumbler · 20/05/2011 10:00

I think mid-week vodka is fine - after all it's clear so it's got to be as healthy as water Hmm that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it! (same goes for, oooh gin? In fact g&t with a slice of lime is practically 1 of your 5 a day?)

I really am trying with the health kick though- drinking nettle tea as I type instead of coffee but can't give myself a personality transplant and become completely clean living! A little of what you fancy does you good...

Sorry you think you can feel ERTD brewing already - is it fair that all the earliest signs of pg are identical to signs of AF on her way? Seems like a cruel joke! Having not been up-duffed I honestly don't think I would 'know' if I was - although some women say they can?

Anyway - off to distract myself from baby daydreaming by strimming the weeds in the backgarden. whoop! Enjoy the weekend everybody

crowette · 20/05/2011 10:04

Good morning Viroids!!

I've also been joining in the mid week tipples! Had horrible days at work, so treated myself to some mixed fruit cider ... tastes just like cherryade Grin but one bottle lasts me the evening! Am off today and tomorrow, and my mobile is switched off so I can't get any calls from work, like I did on Monday! I got asked to go in between 12 and 2, and this was at 11.15am Hmm they even offered to send someone out to collect me, but I told them I had plans ... but not that those plans consisted of sitting on my backside, in my dressing gown all day, ha!

Fingers crossed with the job Josie! I can fill in my application form online now our internet is working again (was out for a couple of days due to 'faulty cable')

We've got the girls over this weekend - OH's daughter from this evening, and my two tomorrow morning, so hopefully that will take my mind off the 2WW - 7DPO today. Trying so hard to NOT symptom spot - fairly easy though, as there are none (ignores the boob stabbing and period type cramps of last night, and the outbreak of spots on my chin).

BamBam21 · 20/05/2011 10:38

Grin at your logic of vodka and gin being just like water Lucy! You're my kind of gal!Grin

I don't know how some women can say they just "know" when they have conceived. I certainly didn't when I had DS, and looking back, the only symptoms I had were that I had NO symptoms. They say every pregnancy is different though, so you never know.

Yay for days off and for seeing your lovely girls crow. I hope you have a great weekend.Smile

Hope you hear about your interview soon Josie. Fingers crossed for you.

crowette · 20/05/2011 11:02

Thanks Bam! Eldest daughter is taking her AS levels at the moment, so am trying to think of ways to treat her (with limited funds) and give her space to chill.

With regards to knowing when I've conceived - it's been when I got a BFP Grin With DD1, I tested when I was over a week late (very few early tests way back then) I had no idea of any symptoms to look out for, and the ones we look for now I didn't get until I was about 8/10 weeks along ... stronger sense of smell was the first, I had a suede handbag that I had to put in a carrier bag and hide in the wardrobe as the smell of it was so strong and made me heave. I had no boob tenderness, or morning sickness - just a little queasyness here and there.

With DD2, I think I was 5 weeks PG when I did the test ... again, no symptoms to give away anything before then. Then at 8/10 weeks, I got the sore boobs, but only for a few days. Sense of smell was in force from then too, Nice and Spicy NikNaks making me heave. No real morning sickeness.

BamBam21 · 20/05/2011 12:47

Oh crow it must be a stressful time for your DD, doing exams. I'm sure she will feel better even just spending some time with you and munching pizza in front of Britain's Got Talent!Smile

It's funny really. With DS I conceived really quickly, had no idea about "symptoms", and was totally naive. This time round, I'm totally clued up, but can't seem to conceive! Another of Mother Nature's hilarious "jokes" do you think?Smile

crowette · 20/05/2011 13:51

Exactly! I conceived within 3 months with both DDs, without even trying when I think back on it. I didn't even know when I ovulated, so it wasn't even timed right!

Now I know all the 'tricks' in the book, and it's not happening Hmm

DD1 is quite relaxed about her exams actually! She's only really concerned about her History ones, as they had a crap teacher and none of the class feel they have learned much. Luckily that teacher won't be with them next year Wink but the damage is done with DD's class. They've been advised to drop one subject going into their A levels next year, and she's going to drop History Sad Quite sad as it's 'my' subject, and something we shared an interest in. But she's still got English Lit I suppose, and often raids my book case for my old York Notes books from when I was at Uni (she's made off with all my Carol Ann Duffy books already!) She's also doing Psychology, General Studies and Classical Civilisation (which she's really getting into!) I'm so proud of her.

deemented · 20/05/2011 13:57

Hello Viroids!!

Am cautiously dipping my toe back in here again. ERTD has arrived yesterday, the first proper one since my miscarraige in April. Am sad to be back but onwards and upwards and all that!!

Hows everyone?

BamBam21 · 20/05/2011 14:23

Welcome back dee.Smile I am so glad that you are feeling positive and able to get back on the TTC wagon. I am sending lots of luck and positive vibes your way.

I am glad your DD is feeling relaxed about her exams crow. A bad teacher can really muck things up for kids though. I'm actually going to see the HT at DS's school at 3pm today, as he has a teacher for half the week who really seems to dislike him and pick him up on every little thing. I am going to complain, because last week she came marching out with DS and told me that he had said "shit" when they were on a class walk. She actually said that in front of him! She then just marched off again before I could say anything. DS denies that he said that, and I actually believe him because he always owns up to stuff, and I know he wasn't lying. We don't ever use language like that in front of him, but she quite happily blurted it out.Angry DS had a hard time with my idiot ex (his father), and his behaviour was a bit bad for a while, but he hasn't seen him for a year now, he's really bright, and this teacher just seems to have a real problem with him. I've had enough of her, to be honest.

Any sign of babylann? I hope she's feeling better now.

NervousNelly · 20/05/2011 16:16

Welcome back dee . glad you feel up to joining us again. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you, but not my legs if that's ok Grin.

On that subject, the shag cape got a work out last night, yay! We willcall that one "freshening up supplies". Still got the weekend to go, so fingers crossed I'll get lots of well planned JSing done. According to -my iPhone -app I'm probably due to ov early next week, so I'm hoping to give it a good shot this month.

Good luck to your daughter in her exams crow. that's one part of my youth I don't miss. Bearing in mind I did school, uni, then 3 years of accountancy exams Hmm.

bambam that's appalling! Definitely worth a word with the head. Angry on your behalf.

I wonder how all the lurkers are doing? Miffles, you still out there? Sleepycaz?

What's the weekend plans viroids? OH ate going into town for lunch ( after I've gone in to collect my ludicrously expensive bra!!) and then to see our nephew, who is 17 months and very cute :)

NervousNelly · 20/05/2011 16:19

Pah, strikeout fail, grammar fail - stupid iPhone.

BamBam21 · 23/05/2011 12:13

Hello ladies!

Yay for your shag-cape getting an airing nelly!Grin Grin at "freshening up supplies"! Fingers crossed for you this month.

Well I am around day 19 today, and feeling really bloated, sore boobs etc. On Saturday I had WAY too much CM (TMI sorryBlush) and at one point there was a tiny show of pink. I will not get too excited though. It's far too early for that!BlushGrin

Hope you all had lovely weekends ladies!

crowette · 23/05/2011 13:54

Hallo Bam!

I had a lovely weekend - part from having to work yesterday Hmm been spoilt by OH because he reckons he was a twat to me the other day (he was a tiny bit, but to the extent he's making it out to be), so he cooked dinner last night, cleaned up, bought me a bar of Galaxy and has been very cuddly and loving!

Had a chat with DD1 about her career options - she's just come round to the idea that she's going to uni next year (yikes!) and has finally decided on she wants to do, which is to be a music journalist! We'd had a discussion a few weeks back about it, and she really had no idea of what she wanted to do. She's very good with words, loves reading and writing, is witty and intelligent, so I suggested a degree in English, as it'd be best as an all rounder if she has no solid idea. Then I suggested journalism, so she could use her strength, and combine it with a hobby/love and work on a magazine with a subject that she's interested in. She goes to a local club a couple of times a month to see live bands, goes to bigger gigs and loves listening to music. I jokingly told her to be a music journalist so she could meet bands and get her old mum into gigs/festivals Grin but she loved the idea of it. She spoke to someone at the club she goes to about writing reviews of the bands that play there, and is going to practice writing some about the albums she has etc. She's really interested in this and I'm so proud of her for going out there and enquiring about getting the experience, all on her own! Now she's talking about uni being a definite, not a maybe. Just need to find the right one for her (although she's saying she want to stay local, as she's a bit scared!)

In other news, it's CD25/10DPO today ... according to my previous LPs, I should expect ERTD tomorrow, as I appeared to have OVd slightly earlier than normal. No real symptoms - boobs slightly tender at times, temps still high (very high yesterday, after a dip on Saurday, but putting that down to erratic sleeping) am tired, but had a long hard day at work yesterday. Felt a bit icky just before lunch time, but that soon went after a bowl of tomato soup and instant mash. Tummy slightly crampy at times. So no telling really!

How is everyone else - was very quiet in here over the weekend, so that means you were all busy?

BamBam21 · 23/05/2011 14:12

Hi crow! That's so exciting about your DD. I can't imagine how I'll feel when DS announces what he seriously wants to do. At the moment it's a train driver!Grin She must seem so grown up all of a sudden! I did my degree in English and really loved it (so if she fancies Glasgow Uni I highly recommend it!) and music journalism sounds fab. She could probably get lots of experience on the uni magazines and newspapers too. I wish her lots of luck.Smile

Good luck to you too crow! I have my fingers crossed that the evil witch will stay away this month, and that you have a sticky bean in there!Smile

NervousNelly · 23/05/2011 14:14

Hi viroids :)

Yes, a busy weekend for me crow though We did manage to get the shag cape on again on Saturday morning! Suggested it again to OH last night but he was too tired, although I do buy this excuse as he cycled over 100 miles yesterday the nutter. He promised for tonight though. I added some extra insurance by parading around the house this morning in my new bra, pointing out how well it fitted and what a lively shape it gave my breasts Grin. hopefully he has now spent the day wondering how soon he can remove it tonight Wink. Definitely have pant snot so we should be in with a fair shout this month or else.

On the subject of the new bra - worth every one of the £57 it cost Shock. it fits beautifully, the straps haven't slipped off once, and I've not had to surreptitiously haul it back into place. Now I need to find the same fit but without the price tag.

Didn't manage to see nephew 1 this weekend, but was on skype with my sister and her boy (nephew 2). He's so cute and starting to talk now. Awwwww.

On iPhone so sorry for not name-checking everyone! Will say hi properly later.

NervousNelly · 23/05/2011 14:16

Haha lively breasts Grin. That should have been lovely, but actually I think I prefer lively!

crowette · 23/05/2011 14:29

Thanks Bam I'm not getting my hopes up though, just 'keeping it real'! I'd be expecting any day now if I hadn't miscarried in Sept, so a bit 'meh' at the moment.

I'd love for DD to go to Glasgow for uni Grin even though it's the other end of the country! I've told her she'd really appreciate the proper uni experience, the chance to get away from here and meet loads more people and I think it'd gain her some more confidence and be the making of her. I lived just outside Glasgow for a couple of years and loved it there, and she loved it when she visited. But she's worried about going too far from home, bless her.

£57 on a bra Nelly?! Mind you, I usually have to pay about £30/35 for one (am 34H!] it is great when you find a bra that fits perfectly. I swear by 'Freya' bras - best fit for me :) Fingers crossed your ploy works, then the £57 is even more worth it!!

NervousNelly · 23/05/2011 22:06

Oh crow, sorry about the miscarriage - that must be very tough :( Meh indeed. Fingers crossed for this month!

Re the bra, I'm at the opposite end of the spectrum - 32A! But I've never ever had a properly fitting bra. I thought I'd go in to be really well measured. Unfortunately what I learned is that basically there is no such thing as "your size" as different makes fit completely differently. I tried several one of the same size, some of which fitted and plenty didn't. But the girl in the shop was great; very experienced and helpful. Still, I won't be buying too many at that price Shock.

bam fingers crossed for you too. Chuckling at your DS wanting to be a Train Driver, boys eh? That's a lot better than me when I was 5 - I wanted to be a Dustbin Man (not even a dustbin lady). Hmm. My parents must have been so proud. And a music journalist sounds ace, Crow. How exciting.

The winds here have been horrendous today. Trees down everywhere and our phone line is out (using OH's mobile as a 3G wireless hotspot just now). Where did our summer go :( Oh wait, the 3G isn't working either now, so I may as well keep typing until I can post!

CD12 here. Managed JS on CD8 and 10 so far not that I'm counting as that would be rule breaking. I'm hoping OH remembers he's getting lucky tonight again Wink. I'll let him see my "lively" breasts... Grin.

Right think we're back online so will try to post!

JosieSmith1 · 24/05/2011 19:55

Evening everyone

Dee good to see you but hope you won't be here very long (in the nicest possible way)

Not a lot to report here. We've been saving money for a while now and will have enough to cover mat leave when I get pg so we've decided to use the rest and do up our garden. It's currently just covered in blue tarp so can't really go out and do anything in it, so we're going to do what we can with limited time and funds but if the plan comes together it'll be fab and we can have people round and have barbies etc.

So that's keeping me busy. On 2ww technically but I know we didn't do it at right time so I'm just waiting for next month but to be honest I'm not too bothered if it doesn't happen in the next couple of months. Should hear about the job by the end of the week too and if I don't get it I might just cry but hey ho, no point worrying about it yet.

Hope everyone is ok

OP posts:
NervousNelly · 24/05/2011 22:32

Evening viroids. Hope you are doing ok josie and the cow colleague at your work isn't getting you down?

Weird day today. Can't remember if I said, but 2 weeks ago I found a lump on my breast. Long story short, thanks to private health care as a work benefit I saw a consultant today and had a mammogram. All I can say is they hurt! Also had ultrasound, and the whole time, all I could think was that my first ultrasound should have been to my uterus :(. Had to resist the temptation to ask her to give my ovaries the once over while she was there Blush. anyway all is fine, I basically just have lumpy breasts Hmm, it's probably just hormonal so I've to go back in 6 weeks for a check. I'm such an idiot because I sat there thinking "noooo, in 6 weeks I'll be pregnant and there is no way anyway will be allowed near my tender boobs". Getting ahead of myself???? Nah.....

Though we donned shag capes last night so that's days 8, 10 and 12. Not sure about tonight as I feel rather more lab rat than sex goddess, and still have biro marks to prove it.

Hope all well with the viroids? It's been quiet of late, I hope that is because of too much sex, not too much work??
