Cramps after IUI - anyone?

Hello Smile

We've just had our first go at IUI (with Menopur injections). The procedure was on Monday. On Tuesday evening I started with a mild crampy feeling, and it's still there now. I also have a slightly achey lower back.

Is this normal? I'd love for someone to say they had this and went on to get a BFP Grin

Thanks!

Hi Monkey
I had IUI too, last year, with Menopur. First one- no cramps, didn't feel anything, no pg.
Second one - could really feel the needle thingy in my tube and everything, really odd feeling, then cramps and backache for three days afterwards.
Got my (long awaited) BFP 10 days later.
Am now lying on sofa 21 wks gone with a big fat tummy :)
Good luck my love. I feel for you, the process you have to go thru to even get to IUI is so harrowing and drawn-out. The rollercoaster of emotions...omg, I'm nearly in tears thinking about it.
If you want to talk or share your story and why you had to have IUI, please just let me know. I'm here for you.

Thanks both of you for your posts, and sorry not to have replied earlier!

Deemented, were any of your attempts successful? I hope for you they were...

Jenni, huge congratulations on your pregnancy, that's lovely to hear Smile It is a very long road getting to that point isn't it Sad To cut a very long story short, we have been trying for number 2 now for over 3 years. We had two mc's at 8 and 12 weeks in 2008, an op for endo in 2009, and then lost a baby at 15 weeks last April. All in all a very tough few years, and I've almost lost hope that we'll ever be able to give our ds (4) a sibling Sad
We're doing this so further on down the line we can say we tried everything, even if it didn't work. I don't want to have regrets that we didn't try iykwim. I'm slowly getting my head round ds being an only child, but I wish with all my heart that wasn't the case. I feel so strongly that there is someone missing from our family Sad

Anyway, enough about me, I hope you are enjoying your pregnancy and that everything is going smoothly. Thank you for hug Smile xxx
