Day 21 progesterone test

i need to get a day 21 test but is it 7 days after ovulation or 7 days before next period? If 7 days before my period I have to go 3 days after ovulation as I have 10/11 day LP.

Does this test just show whether you ovulated, is that all it is checking or can it tell you whether you are producing enough progesterone for a suitable amount of time?

Thanks very much Super. The doc said 7days before period and I asked whether she meant 7 days past ovulation and she said well they're both the same thing... Which clearly they're not if you don't have a 14 day LP.
Yes GP surgery is testing me, I an pretty sure I ovulate that's why I was wondering whether it tests sth else.

Yup my nice (female) Gp asked if I knew when I was ovulating, need to go 7 days after. My initial results were inaccurate low cos they were too late (I usually have a 12/13 day luteal phase but the one was only 10!).
