Implantation Bleed or Not??

I'm 7 weeks today and had a bleed last Friday. The EPU gave me a scan and the heartbeat was there, they put it down to an implantation bleed and said I may bleed for up to a week or two. Never had or heard of this before so all very scary

Sorry for the TMI but...the bleeding dried up on Sat with just a small amount of brown spotting. This morning I've had another bleed, this time not just spotting and its's much redder - more like a fresh bleed. I've had no pain really, just that 'tugging' sensation. I'm very worried that this may be developing into a miscarriage and having never expereinced this before I'm really not sure what to expect or what to do?

Very scared! Can anyone help/advise? Sad

I've had two miscarriages and the bleeding has always been heavy and sore. If its still light and only mild to slightly uncomfortable cramping then there isn't anything you can do but remain hopeful.

I had a friend who also had bleeding and they found a heartbeat, she was fine. They said the same thing to her that it might just be implantation. Bleeding is common but scary in pregnancy.

Unfortunately something I always find hard is that there is nothing you can do, you've been checked so now just take it easy and I really hope that everything works out for you.

Some spotting doesn't mean a miscarriage.

I'm so sorry to hear it and reminds me to be thankful that the heart is still beating.

I think you've hit the nail on the head - its not being able to do anything that's the scary bit and as DH has reminded me - stressing about it won't help. At only 7 weeks I've a long way to go yet and am trying to accept that there is not much I can do but hope for the best.

Thank you for the post though, helps to know I'm not alone x

How are you getting on today?

Bleeding has stopped again!! Had some light spotting this morning but nothing since, still its hard to find the balance between staying positive and not getting my hopes up too much that It'll be harder to cope with if things don't work out.

Reading some other posts I'm lucky it's only been these two occasions so far - everything being unknown is the hard part.

Thank you for asking, its really nice to know there are other mums to support us! Smile

Just wanted to say that I had bleeding around week 8 with both my previous pregnancies cause it's your first month after missing a period ur body can take time to adjust if it's light and keeps stopping I wouldn't worry but if it carries on go back to epu x

It has pretty much stopped now and I feel much better, it has been very reassuring reading similar stories and know that its quite a common thing and I should try not to jump to panic stations straight away!!

Thank u Smile
