A I mad to think about trying for number 2 when number one is just three months old?

Just it took us 2 and a half years to get number one and I know it is posisble that number two could happen immediately but chances are it won't. So is it mad to start trying now? I mean I don;t have my periods back or anything, so won;t happen, but we could just let contraception slide (not that we have very frequent sex at moment) and see what happens. Or is that ridiculous...?

Congrats on your baby. I know lots of people who struggled for years for first baby and fell straight away 2nd time around so you're right to be cautious. But you waited so long for this one can you not relax and enjoy him/her for a while yet before thinking of next one. Why not give yourself a time limit to relax etc then start thinking of bundle of joy no 2?
Hope all goes well for you x

u are more fertile after having a baby so just consider how you would feel if you had a newborn and a one yea old. if you think it would be ok for you then just ditch the contraception and see what happens. ps, if u had a complicated birth it might be worth checking whether your gp would recommend a little longer to recover.x

Congrats on your baby! I remember you from the TTC boards when you were trying.

My son is 12 months old and I'm pregnant with no 2 - due in Nov so there will (hopefully) be a 20 month gap. It took us years of trying and one round of ICSI to get DS, we had planned on doing another round of ICSI in Feb but delayed it as I'm still breastfeeding. And as if by magic, I got pregnant naturally at the very time we had planned on the ICSI!

I was terribly broody around 2/3 months post-birth. I think it was hormones, combined with knowing it took us a lot to conceive DS. That's when I got the idea that I wanted to return to work after maternity leave pregnant with no 2. But since I was breastfeeding, we thought I'd wait and see when my periods returned and leave it to chance for a bit. We honestly never ever expected to get pregnant naturally.

Good luck with whatever you decide. Enjoy these precious early months with your baby Smile
