Mid Cycle Bleeding On Clomid

Am on my third round of Clomid, last month I started spotting on CD 20 and continued to spot until AF on CD31. This month I am on CD15 and have started spotting again Sad I have been on Dr Google and he has suggested that it may be because I am not ovulating and not on the right dose.

My consultant at the hospital has been pretty unhelpful in the past, I have had one check up since starting 3 months ago and was in and out in 30 seconds, I have had no scans to check if I have ever ovulated or not and I just feel so Sad that I might be setting myself up for a fall every month I am on this shitty drug that makes me feel shitty Sad

Has anyone got any positive stories of mid cycle bleeding on Clomid but still ovulating?

Chloe I am sorry you are feeling down and that you are not getting proper monitoring. I am on my 6th cycle of clomid (DH has some issues with his swimmers so it's looking like we're going to need IVF). I started off on 50mgs of clomid but on my first cycle, I didn't have any dominant follicles at CD13 so my dosage was increased to 100mgs.

I only found out I wasn't likely to ovulate because my consultant insists on an ov scan each month. I was also monitored for ovulation with one CD21 progesterone test (2nd cycle) and a CD18 ultrasound (3rd cycle) to ensure that 100mgs was enough.

So unless they have checked, you might not be ovulating ... but how will they know whether they need to increase your dose if they don't offer you any checks? Confused

However, on a more positive note, I get spotting on CD14 / CD15 sometimes just after ov. So spotting this early could be a good sign Smile

Sounds like you might need to give your consultant a push though to double check the dose is right.

FWIW, I also found the side effects got a lot better after the first couple of cycles so I hope it gets better for you and you don't feel too rubbishy.

Keeping my fingers crossed for you Smile

Thanks garden for your reply. I appear to have fully come on now. Hmm WTF is going on? I only came off 8 days ago Sad

Oh, on which cycle days did you take the clomid pills? Confused

Took the pills day 2-6 inc. I do appear to have stopped bleeding again as of last night though so I have absolutely no idea what the biggish bleed was all about Confused

Emma I think I recognise your name from my thread last month about Clomid - it seems mid cycle spotting isn't that unusual then. I will def be ringing the consultant tomorrow and if I can't get through I will go back and see the gp and demand I be moved to somewhere that will look after me. The more I read about clomid the more I am aware about the awful lack of aftercare I am receiving on the treatment Angry

Have dtd this morning (just in case) and even that didn't start the bleeding again so who knows??!

CHloe

I would ask your GP to refer you to another hospital unit. It is fair to say that some NHS units in particular are far better than others. The treatment you have received to date is sub standard.

Also bleeding between periods should always be investigated further to ascertain the cause.
