I am about to start cycle 5 and wondered if there were any fellow sex pests out there who wanted to join me in regular swi, not so regular poas and plenty of Wine, Biscuit, Brew and [chocolate emoticon].

Hi poppy flip me - I would be going mad, I am so sorry that your body is being so confusing!! I have every confidence that it will happen for you and all this stress will be just a bad, distant memory!

Hate jumping in but need to share with someone before I unwisely spill onto someone at work. I have been ready to move on from my job for a year or so now but the right opportunity just hasn't come up - I now have very itchy feet but have stopped looking since we started trying for a baby as the maternity pay is pretty essential. This morning I heard that one of my colleagues is moving on to a great job and I am so pleased for her - but I am also unspeakably jealous especially as my boss is saying how proud he is of her - I so wish it was me!! I know it isn't sensible to consider moving right now but I just don't want to be left behind. I know everyone is going through this uncertain period but if it takes time for us to get pregnant then I could think about moving - but is it worth the risk? Currently praying for an internal position to magically appear on the intranet as that would be a great interim option. :-(

Poppyjen · 11/05/2011 13:36

Hi Boogies - it is horrid, I feel like I can't trust my body at all it is sending too many mixed messages Confused

Sorry to hear about your work stress. Before I considered having children I would have said "don't put your life on hold for something you have no control over" but having had my DS my perspective has changed somewhat!

I had a similar situation just before we conceived DS. I hated my job and really wanted to leave to do something more interesting (which inevitably meant lower pay and less attractive maternity benefits) but in the end I stuck it out and I am pleased I did because if I had moved on I wouldn't have qualified for various maternity leave bits and pieces as I wouldn't have been there long enough. Part of me really wished I had taken the job when I was 8 months pregnant and working until midnight but at least I now have the opportunity to have a break from the world of work and re-assess what I want to do.

Just my own experience, I appreciate that if you do similar and then it takes a while to conceive then you could be cursing my name.... Wink

Maybe you could give yourself a couple of cycles and then if nothing has happened re-assess? What would you consider doing after maternity leave? Would you want to go back? What would your options be for part time etc? There's no easy answer with this as you just never know when its going to happen Smile

Oh and re Fertility Friend random ov date change I did a little experiment and removed all the CM data and guess what, back to 2nd May (CD29) again....when I added it back in it turns out that the pivotal data is my CM on CD 34 and 35 and nothing to do with the temperature at all Confused I guess I will just test mid-week next week and if no joy and no AF keep testing every couple of days just in case.

Hi all, whitegold here - was out with friends last night and got talking about childhood nicknames from our parents and siblings, this was mine so I've decided to namechange Smile Will update stats with my new name later.

How are you doing today emma - any news?

I was wondering if you ladies could offer any advice - I'm currently CD24 and when I got up this morning I had a small amount of spotting when I went to the loo. At first I thought it must be the start of af (although I still have a week to go till I'm due), but theres been nothing else all day so far? I also had this about 2 months ago, but then af arrived on time. Any ideas what it could be? I'm baffled!

eurochick · 12/05/2011 14:14

lugsie I get it too some cycles a lot of people do, got it now, like all symptoms it could be a sign of AF or PG eg implantation (Mine is brown).

Looks like I'm out again and moving on to cycle 7 :( FFS def thinking of throwing the towel in.

Oh weimy I'm so sorry - thinking about you today.

SWI begins tomorrow - bring it on!

Did anyone see 'Inside the Human Body' on Tuesday (I think it was that episode) - definately worth checking out if not. It was all about the beginning of life (i.e. what we are trying to make happen) and was full of interesting graphics, fantastic facts and great explanations. Catch it on iplayer- if only for the results of an experiment with lap dancers which was amazing!!!

eurochick · 13/05/2011 10:47

Boogies I saw that and thought it was interesting. The second episode was last night.

Sorry to hear that, weimy.

BoogiesBunny · 13/05/2011 11:12

Poppy - thank you so much for your advice earlier this week. I have been mulling it over and think your idea of leaving it for a few cycles to see how we get on is a good idea. It is great to hear that you were in the same situation when you had DS. BB

DreamingOfABump · 13/05/2011 12:03

AF finally got me, 8 days late. Had a feeling it was game over because all the symptoms disappeared. Maybe I had a little egg but it didnt develop properly. Onwards and upwards, it was only our first month & we have lots of time to make another super egg!

weimy - oh noes! So sorry to hear it hasn't happened for you again this month! I can't imagine how hard it must be to be trying for so long - but I do hope you don't give up! Would miss you on the thread! :)

I'm in the 2ww - FF can't make it's mind up about when I ovulated, it currently says last Sunday, but i'm pretty certain it was actually Saturday. Sadly my arthritis is playing up at the moment, so we're considering whether we should take a few months off trying - had a blood test on Wednesday to see how active my immune system is (that's what causes the arthritis, my immune system going nuts and attacking my body) so am waiting to get the results and will take it from there.

We kind of tried this month in the end, had SWI twice in the right period, but it was more by chance and laziness about being careful than design. Am in a weird kind of limbo where I want to be pregnant and I don't - it's not a great idea to get preg while it's active; higher risk of mc, higher risk of arthritis worsening in preg instead of going into proper remission naturally, higher risk of damaging my joints permanently etc etc. But at the same time, i'm 32 and not getting any younger and if it happens it happens - we'll just have to deal with it. Is quite the head fuck!

Anyways - i'm disappearing for a week now, DP and I are off on holiday with a bunch of my cousins & uncle to deepest darkest wales (well, the llyn peninsula) where it is forecast to rain and rain and rain. So i'm taking scrabble. And lots of books. We have no internet access there, so I shall be gone from the thread till next weekend. At least it should take my mind of the 2ww!

I'm hoping that we have some BFPs on the thread by the time I get back! We could all do with some good news about now!

UtterlyMonkey · 13/05/2011 15:31

Hello ladies,
just a quick note to say that following sore boobs, I tested positive - Im about 4-5wks? I hv my first check with midwife on the 24th. It's not sunk in yet - all a bit surreal, but very pleased and hope that all goes well.
Good luck everyone, big love and hugs from me and the little bun :-) xxx

BunMyOven · 13/05/2011 16:48

Hi all, it's OBeSomeOtherName here! Have namechanged because I was bored with my old NN and have finally gotten around to sorting out my profile a bit. Lugsie I see a coincidence has accurred here! Grin

Very sorry to hear about the BFP's! Sad

Utterly that is utterly (sorry) fantastic! Congratulations!!

Damn it Trope, what a position to be in! I really hope the athritis pisses off! Have a lovely time in Wales and try to take your mind off things a bit and relax (and say "bore da"/hi to the sheep from me! Grin)

sorry about AF dreaming and those of you getting BFNs Sad
FX for the blood test trope xx

weimy, really hope you don't give up - you got us all together by starting this thread, so do vent here if it will help - you've been here for us and we're here for you Smile

AF finished earlier this week, and I know I won't have ov'd yet, but with my cycle being so variable I'm taking no chances and started SWI on Tues, which was only CD5, but I've decided on a 'take no prisoners' approach this month, and the SWI needs to cover every cycle length eventuality from about 25 to 40. DH seems cheery enough about the programme Wink

I've tried to update the stats from the posts above, apologies if I've got you wrong or not updated.

Dreaming, I've stuck you above me as I'm estimating a 35 day cycle this month, it seems to creep up and then plummet, so 26, 28, 30/31, 35, 39, 26 or maybe I'm imagining some pattern into the madness.....

TMI warning - but I have a question - I've read somewhere that clots in your AF are a bad sign, and last AF I have just had lots of clots (major TMI Blush) but like gobs of blackcurrant jam - should I be worried, seeing the GP, or is it just all part of life's rich tapestry??? apologies for over-sharing, but it's cycle 5 now, and I know that's not ages, but I don't know whether to hold tight as it's just taking it's sweet time, or whether to think about getting some tests done - but don't want to stress us unnecessarily. not the sort of think I discuss with DH for obvious reasons (double Blush)

BunMyOven · 13/05/2011 21:15

Thanks for updating my name Wouldbe, I didn't think of that! WRT the clotting I had a quick google and found this, I had it on my 1st cycle after having my coil removed and had a really heavy period then it was fine again on my last AF when it returned back to a medium flow (I'm TMIing now too!). Maybe if you get heavy periods it could be that?
I also found this which might be useful for you (I'm on a Google frenzy tonight! Grin).

wouldbemumandotherstuff · 13/05/2011 22:53

thanks BunMyOven, those links do look useful. and apologies to all for the TMI!! Blush

Poppyjen · 14/05/2011 07:27

oooooh Triphasic pattern here

What do you think ladies?

Poppyjen · 14/05/2011 07:27

on my Fertility Friend chart for those that think I am talking nonsense... Wink

eurochick · 14/05/2011 09:28

Oooo, that looks interesting Poppyjen.

(Although don't get your hope up too much - my last cycle was also triphasic. According to FF it happens on 12% of PG cycles and 4% of non-PG cycles. Trust me to be in the 4% minority!)
