I am about to start cycle 5 and wondered if there were any fellow sex pests out there who wanted to join me in regular swi, not so regular poas and plenty of Wine, Biscuit, Brew and [chocolate emoticon].

OP posts:
trope · 24/04/2011 09:51

well AF didn't show yesterday, nor had it arrived when I got up this morning so I POAS and.... nope, nothing, no little line of joy for me.

Now I suppose I just wait and see if AF shows and if it doesn't, test again sometime later this week.

Gah! This is frustrating!!

shobbs · 24/04/2011 12:12

hey ladies,

thank you for your posts, well AF came 2 days ago and was the worst ever (thinks its because i new what was passing),

im ok physically but mentally i have everything running through my head (why me?, did i do something wrong? etc etc)

i know it wasnt ment to be but that doesnt stop the thinking.

i have no idea when my next af is due but not gonna try this month think im gonna take a step back just to recover from this.

good luck to you all though xxx

trope · 24/04/2011 12:26

hey shobbs Just wanted to say, though I'm sure you already know this, that early MCs are incredibly common and i'm sure it's got nothing to do with you doing anything "wrong" - it's just bad luck. Doesn't stop you questioning things I'm sure, but please don't be hard on yourself over this! I hope your DP is taking good care of you and I hope to see you back on the bus soon! :)

trope · 24/04/2011 12:36

Well, it seems like AF has gotten me - spotting started a little while ago and I've got the usual cramping / black hole of doom sensation so I think that's me out for this month!

Felt weirdly relieved when it came, not because I didn't want to be pregnant, but more that I didn't want weeks of not knowing and a cycle that's even more all over the place than it had been. Assuming AF goes into full flow later, that would mean a 26 day cycle, which is back to what I had when I first stopped the pill and that seems like a pretty steady/good cycle to have.

Looking forward to a cold beer with my BBQ dinner tonight and lots of SWI in the weeks to come. I always knew it wasn't likely to happen straight away (I'm just not that lucky a person!!) so feel pretty OK with it all, though obviously a bit disappointed!

Mostly though I still just feel really happy to be finally trying for a baby! Can't help feeling that things could (and have been) so much worse - so it'd be daft for me to sit around feeling sorry for myself over one failed cycle! :o

Now, off to the garden to sit in the sunshine and read, while DP scavenges something up for lunch! All things considered i'm feeling pretty damn lucky really!

Liliana1 · 24/04/2011 13:20

Glad you are being so positive trope and sorry AF got you! I'm the same - very excited to be trying for a baby - its like a special secret me and my DH share :) do have my down days but like you said, could be so much worse. Enjoy your afternoon

Shobbs don't beat yourself up please. It was nothing you did and as trope says is v common - most people don't even know they were pg and its only due to the early testing available now that more people are realising they have miscarried. Take care of yourself and give yourself time to come to terms with it, but don't play the blame game. Hope your OH is taking good care of you and hope to see you back soon. (((((hugs)))))

Byrnsie30 · 24/04/2011 15:19

Hey Shobbs,
Sorry to hear your news. It is very disappointing and upsetting. I thought I was OK after the initial upset and once I had an internal scan to check I was healthy. The nurse at the scan said it might hit me again in a few weeks, that I had to allow myself time to grieve - and she was right!
I thought alot about what I had or hadn't done that could have made a difference - but in the end it's out of our control and no one is to blame x

emmaloupolman · 24/04/2011 21:06

Hope all well

I am now in my 2ww x

UtterlyMonkey · 24/04/2011 22:28

Hello Ladies,
Still here, still no af Confused have done a test but i know it is far to early and it was only a cheap tesco one, it was a negative though (which i knew but could not help myself) does anyone know how long after doing the deed you have to wait to do a test? I am so inpatient (not a good thing) hope everyone has had a lovely easter Smile

MorningCoffee · 25/04/2011 10:12

{hugs1} to you Shobbs, don't blame yourself unfortunatly it does happen, even though this does not make it any easier, be kind to yourself and take care.

DreamingOfABump · 25/04/2011 10:18

i think its recommended to wait 18days after swi to get a decent preg test result if u dont know your cycle

MorningCoffee · 25/04/2011 10:36

Thanks dreamingofabump, i know i must wait but the waiting game is soooooo boring Wink will update soon.

Byrnsie30 · 25/04/2011 11:53

Welcome utterly Monkey - been trying for roughly the same amount of time as you - good luck!

Heya Morning Coffee - I don't know how soon after the deed you can test. I usually count back from when my AF is due and try not to test any earlier than 6 days before as those are the most sensitive tests I have found (First Response)

Good luck to all x

trope · 25/04/2011 13:02

Just a quick update before heading out into the sunshine! Spotting only lasted a couple of hours yesterday then stopped. Since then (warning-TMI!!) I've had a few smallish rust-red fibrousy bits in with my CM, but no fresh blood and certainly no full on AF just yet! Am still getting intermittent strong periody cramps and aching, and my temp has plummetted to 0.2 below the coverline, so it seems highly unlikely that i'm pregnant. Not to mention the fact that implantation bleeds are usually no later than 10-12DPO (or so my internet research suggests) and I'm currently 14DPO. At this point I reckon my body is just having a big old laugh at my expense!!

Still, at least DP is home so I have someone to share my frustration and confusion at my body with! (Think it's actually doing his head in worse than mine!)

Re tests - I read online that you should ideally wait 10-14 days post ov before testing, to allow time for implantation / HCG to build up. I used a superdrug own brand cheapy with says it can be used up to 4 days before AF. Of course it came back negative and I'd be lying if I said my internal branded goods snob wasn't crowing that if i'd bought a nice boots one, or a clearblue one then I would have had a different result perhaps! Wink

Am planning on waiting at least a couple of days before braving a repeat test. DP is back to work Tuesday - Thursday before our 2nd long bank holiday, so ideally I want to wait till Friday so he can be here / with me for the day. Whether I have the patience to wait that long is another matter however... Wink

Poppyjen · 26/04/2011 09:52

Morning ladies, just a quick update from me - CD23 and according to Fertility Friend no ovulation yet Sad

Looks like I am in for another mammoth cycle - last month was 56 days, goodness knows what this cycle will be. Really pleased I started charting though as at least I will be able to tell if there's any ovulation action at all. Due back to see specialist if nothing's happened for us after 6 months (because I already know I have PCOS) - we are now just about to start month 4....

Sorry for being so down, I feel incredibly low at the moment, kind of like I am a bit of a failure for not even ovulating. It happened for us so quickly for DS (1st cycle post pill) that it makes this horrible limbo even worse Confused

Sorry for me me me post. Hope everyone else out there had a lovely Easter weekend Smile
