Two VERY small glasses of wine at 7 DPO... Have I completely spoiled my chances for this cycle?

Am so cross with myself! Saw some friends last night and ended up having two VERY small glasses of wine (less than 125ml each I would think). I was feeling really relaxed and chilled out about the whole TTC shenanigans after a lovely day in the sun and just thought "oh well, what harm can it do, this probably won't be my month anyway, and even if it is having a drink will probably relax me and help things out." However, today am feeling wildly unrelaxed and convinced have wrecked our chances this month. Could this have stopped implantation or done any other harm? I know loads of people get pregnant unintentionally and drink for ages after ovulation as they obviously didn't know they shouldn't, but am beating myself up over having done this. Do you think it'll have ruined my prospects of a December baby?

I find it fairly usual amongst my friends to conceive whilst rather the worse for wear! or maybe I just have lushes for friends. Either way I am sure you have done no harm.

And fingers crossed! x

Both of my DC were conceived under a haze of alcohol! I wouldn't worry about it Smile

Thank you! I have spent my morning in such a state of anxiety that that's probably done the (probably imaginary!) baby more harm than the wine, I really need to relax and stop worrying! DH is away so there's no-one here to tell me to stop being silly. FX for this being the month so I can move on to pregnancy worries rather than TTC worries...

Seriously don't worry! It won't have done anything at all even if there is a bean there. Implantation won't have even happened yet, so relax!

no.

ellangirl · 20/03/2011 13:19

lol lissie, come back to the hut!

meliesmummy · 20/03/2011 14:07

If you have then so have I...I'm 3 days po and had a glass of champagne at a wedding yesterday. Seriously, I've really cut back on caffeine and alcohol but I can't put everything on hold for a theoretical baby, and nor should you x

ellangirl, just needed a break. was too despondant for even the hut. now on 68 cycles and counting.

Thank you, everyone.

A friend who'd only been trying for 4 months went to the dr, said she'd been trying for longer to have tests done - they showed she hadn't ovulated in Dec so on Xmas Day she drank a bottle & half of champagne - thinking she couldn't be PG - lo & behold got a BFP the next day - is now 16 wks PG, 3 scans & all fine so I wouldn't worry at all about the alcohol you've consumed - in fact I'm now at the point of drinking even if I don't feel like it to reduce my stress levels as think/know they have a more detrimental effect then the odd glass of wine.
