Fertility charting - no periods

Hello people,

This is my first post here so please be gentle Wink

I'm sure you've seen a million depo related questions on here before I'm now a fully signed up member to the 'will my periods every bloody come back' worry club.

My husband and I are planning to start TTC very soon but my cycle hasn't come back yet. I have been told by my Dr that they won't even look at if there's a problem until it's been 12 months since my last injection was due, it's now been 8 1/2 months. So that I don't get fobbed off and sent away for even longer I want to take some proof that I am or aren't ovulating when I go back in July. I was therefore wondering if temperature tracking can work for someone in this situation? I've not been able to find any help on Google.

Thanks in advance for any advice/wisdom.

I don't know much about the depot injection but to understand your fertility and charting I'd recommend fertility friend www.fertilityfriend.com
they offer a charting curse. theres an excellent book.called 'taking charge of your fertility' by Toni Weschler which many people inc me recommend. its worth knowing 80% couples concaeive within a year if trying and 90% within 18 months. for many women it seems to take longer when they've come off depot/progesteroneoypill
(I was on cerzatte
apologies my smart phone is going a bit mad hence weird word comibining and poor spelling.
anyway give those a whirl. you can get the book on Amazon.

Thank you for your reply. I will check out that website and book. I know I have to wait until July until it's been 12 months off the depo before my doctor will talk to me about it so I'd like to try and take evidence with me I'm ovulating (or not).

Hi,

I did fertility charting while not having periods. My non bleeding was due to Ashermans Syndrome though, which is a structural not hormonal problem (scar tissue in the uterus prevents the lining from growing properly and/or escaping)

I dont know anything about the depo, but if you are ovulating you should see the temp rise and then fall later when you are supposed to bleed. Here is what my chart looked like:

www.fertilityfriend.com/home/30b552

I could only really tell where I was in the cycle after quite a long time of doing it, when I got an overview of the whole picture, while you are actually doing it, it can be a bit frustrating, but after a month of two definitely worth if for the information it gives.

by the way, if you sign up to FF from this link, we both get 5 free VIP days!

and I second the TCOYF book recommendation - an excellent book.

Hi, I am in a similar position in that I have not had any periods since June 2010, after coming off the Pill in May.
I saw my GP last September who told me to come back when my periods had been absent for 6 months or more. I duly went back in January and was sent for blood tests, an ultrasound and referred to a consultant.
I finally saw the consultant last week and have been diagnosed with "classic" Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS).

My advice would be to make a nuisance of yourself with your GP - as far as I understand it the NHS policy is that women should have a bleed of some sort at least 2 or 3 times a year.
