Getting us started on a new thread; this one is gonna be a lucky one!

OP posts:
batteryhen · 05/05/2011 14:02

lady I know how frustrating it is to be wondering what the hell your body is up to. I hope it sorts itself out soon. If you are pre ov is there any chance of a bit of SWI or is DH away just now?

Just a quickie updat - had my bloods done and EPAU just called me back to give me my results - 23,381!! So they are rising nicely and she said we should definitley be able to see something on the scan tomorrow

Looks for jolls -any news love?

AandRMum · 05/05/2011 16:28

Oh battery that is so exciting - I am feeling all jittery (in a good way) for your scan tomorrow!

LadyB know that feeling of suppressing stuff far too well! It will be good once you are underway. Fx af turns up soon and you can get on with things.

The naturopath was interesting! A strange combination of sensible advice re minerals etc combined with odd advice re calling a lady called Iris who lives in a cowfield in Scotland - she can send you vitamins through just using her thoughts hmmm! Does shake your faith in the sensible sounding stuff. I will dutifully fill my cupboard with more minerals etc and freak dh out by drinking clay and will see what happens!

brokenbarrenbrook · 05/05/2011 19:03

battery fabulous news honey, hopefully that will make you rest a little easier tonight in preparation for scan tomorrow (or maybe not) Grin so chuffed for you.

bee FX things get back to normal after the flight. But clearly sods law is going to come into play here and it's going to be mid flight isn't it! I'm praying that's not the case. The nurse said yesterday we're talking minuscule measurements so may even itself out. I thought the sonographer had written 7 weeks but I obviously misread.

A&R MENTAL! Iris who lives in a cowfield in Scotland sending you vitamins through her thoughts!!! WTF! I am laughing my socks off, how did you keep a straight face?! And drinking clay?! You'll be doing pottery poo.

jolls...........fingers, toes and legs are still crossed xxx

OP posts:
Freezingmyarseoff · 05/05/2011 21:06

battery wow, that's a big leap in hcg Grin will be thinking of you tomorrow

LadyBee sending you my best chilled out vibes I can. AandR's advice of giving yourself some proper me-time is vair wise. Hope you can make it happen. Meanwhile, might I suggest a mooncup for the flight. Not that I know anything about them.

AandR ouch, pottery poo sounds painful Shock Congrats on the job btw. What's all this talk of architects - sounds exciting and interesting. We did a house extension last year and now I'm really nosey about that sort of thing. Tell me more (only if you want, of course)

mouse good luck with the work discussions.

Jolls any news...pretty please

In other news, I dropped my iphone today and smashed the screen Angry doh - I'm such an eejit

But I also went plant shopping with my stepmum, I now have a busy weekend ahead supervising DH in the garden Smile

Waves to all
xx

Freezingmyarseoff · 05/05/2011 21:07

meant to say MummyA, I too am in awe of your vacuuming skills. Will try that tonight from the sofa

AandRMum · 05/05/2011 23:43

POTTERY POO love it!!! BBB Grin Grin I think the amusement factor might actually have been the best tonic from the whole event. Oh well I promised my friend I would keep an open mind so I will rattle with minerals (kelp, magnesium, calcium and zinc) and drink my clay and try produce artistic pottery poo and will see what happens - I think I will leave Iris the cow lady well enough alone!

Has anyone had a lymphatic massage?

freezing your poor iphone - does this mean you get to upgrade to a later version [hopeful emoticon] or like me have no insurance and so have to try and live with said smashed screen making ever more nonsensical typing errors! Always happy to talk about our house build - even though absolutely nothing is happening at the moment. We bought a site about 18 months ago and got planning permission in Jan to build a house out of weathered steel (if you have ever seen the Treetop walkway at Kew Gardens - it is the same material) It is very exciting but getting the funding is proving just a tad difficult. Our blog which is pretty stagnant at the moment as it is primarily to keep the neighbours informed about what is happening when - and there isn't anything really to report just yet.

batteryhen · 06/05/2011 08:38

Just popping head in to see if jolls has been in? I see the list has been updated and now I am just in suspenders!!

randomimposter · 06/05/2011 08:54

hi all - thanks chook

well did POAS this morning, but it's either the faintest of faint positive lines EVER recorded, or it's an evap line. Nothing came up straight away and had to leave it to deal with DS. Came back after more than 10 minutes and there is a shadow of a line. But very unconvincing.

Am going to do what I did last time and test again 19 days after last SWI if no AF in the interim. Cos that's what peeonastick.com says, I remember. That'd be Monday. (Just looked back and last 2 BFPs for last 2 pgs were not until day 31 and day 30)

I'm not feeling remotely pregnant, so would be quite shocked if I am, we only managed to SWI on CD12 and 13. But on the other hand, apart from aftermath of MMCs/ERPCs I've never had a longer than 28 day cycle. So that must mean I've started my menopause... HmmGrinShock

good luck for scan today chook hope the bloods have given you appropriate reassurance...

Off to consider pottery poo... Grin

batteryhen · 06/05/2011 09:58

oh my god jolls I feel very excited for you. I really really hope this is it and will keep my fingers crossed. My appointment has been put back half an hour so I am just waiting around now :)

nickstermum · 06/05/2011 10:18

Good luck with the bloods hen

Another Whoop for the BBBrookmeister, freezing and YRMOT...BFP

and great blog AR but a little scared by the crazy cow lady Grin

Freezingmyarseoff · 06/05/2011 10:41

oh Jolls tis looking positive for you - eek. I so hope it will be

Battery fingers crossed for you too. I'll be checking back all day for more news

AandR wow those plans looks amazing. I hope it all works out for you

Phone is working but screen all smashed so I think it can be fixed

YouremindmeoftheBFP · 06/05/2011 10:58

Hello all.

I have been trying to keep my head down, and dp has been away so I am main carer for ds. Unfortunately that meant last night after nursery I had to carry a sleeping ds up a huge hill for a mile to get home. I just couldn't wake him. And at 4.5 he's not getting any smaller. So I have sore arms today, and was knackered last night..

Eeeep for jolls That's fab. And exciting.

battery best of luck for today, got my fx for you today.

freezing have you got a local repair centre that isn't Apple? Here we have iPatch, a company that repair them for cheaper.

aandr am Grin at the cow lady. Although the vitamins and minerals can't be a bad thing, can they. Hopefully you'll see some differences.

mouse Good luck for the job meeting today, it is today, isn't it? Hope she's had an attack of kindness and compassion since the last time you saw her.

Today's plan is house tidying. For most of the day, given the state of this place. The joys. Have a good day peeps.

AandRMum · 06/05/2011 11:00

Gah Monday - I am calling Iris (crazy cow woman) to see if she can tell us jolls I can't wait that long!!!! Not even a sneaky CBDigi?!?!

Dd2 starts nursery today - 3 afternoons a week - I need a new baby!!

AandRMum · 06/05/2011 11:03

Or even paces madly!

yrmob like the new name!

mouse good luck and give her hell!

Ladybee · 06/05/2011 12:52

hoorah hooray! if I can't have a baybee, then at least I've got my period BEFORE the flight! One small strike for me-kind.

Wow, jolls that's how all my +ves turn out, small little lines that gradually grow into bigger better ones. Believe me, having just seen several 'couldn't-be-more-blankly-negative-if-I-was-looking-at-a-pristine-piece-of-paper' BFNs, I don't think those shadow lines happen unless there's something for the test to react to. Oh and you have to test earlier than that, or I won't know what happens for aaaaaaaaaages..ok, for at least a week.

ooh ooh freezing I just did Exactly The Same Thing - just to add to stress of having to organise move, I'm having to do it without the centre of my universe my phone. But I found a place to fix it - will let you have details only if it actually arrives back when they say it would and works because after sending it away I found a review site that gave it very mixed feedback.

AandR awwww, that's a milestone isn't it. I hope the new job helps to quell the 'this isn't how it should be' feelings.

MummyAbroad · 06/05/2011 13:52

Jolls !!!ShockGrinGrin Shock I'm with LadyB, my "positive" test could only be read by me. (or possibly you lot) DH couldnt see a thing. I am super excited for you - will save the big whoop for when you retest and believe it yourself!! Grin

ladyb glad the AF wait is at least over and she has been co-operative enough to not interfere with flights. Hope you get your Iphone back - we will want news! even if its just a quick post to say you have arrived OK! How many days until the big off is it again?

AandR I am planning to send DS to nursery school next month (he is 3 in June) feeling scared but now that I am working more he is just watching TV at home poor thing so I think its for the best. If you have any tips about starting them off please share! Best of luck with the new job, I have just jumped into one and I love it, nothing like a new challenge to make you see the world with new eyes again.

AND I have swapped the hoovering and washing for relaxing on the sofa with a nice cup of tea - we have a cleaner again! Phew! Smile

AandRMum · 06/05/2011 14:04

Yay ladyB!

Very brave move on the cleaner hope thus one can keep her hands to herself! My only tip for getting them ready for nursery is to talk about it continuously in the build up to it - amazing how well Pre warning helps!!

Freezingmyarseoff · 06/05/2011 14:27

Someone recently said a line is a line. Just saying jolls Grin Wink
we only managed to swi on 12 & 13 too

Thanks for the iphone repair tips Bee & babe.

batteryhen · 06/05/2011 15:28

Hooray - battery bean is safe and well. measured 6 weeks exactly. Didn't have to have fanjo cam either, and the nurse gave me
2 pictures too :)

have started on my clexane injections and they want to see me in 3 weeks for another scan which is lovely.

I did think i saw another white blob but when I asked she said it was just part of the sac. Hmmmmmm :)

AandRMum · 06/05/2011 16:05

Oh well done battery bean Very naughty to give such a fright!! What a relief!

mousebaconmakestinysandwiches · 06/05/2011 16:12

Yaaay!! That's great battery

Good luck jolls keeping everything crossed for you Smile The one of my BFPs was after only DTD once that month - it can happen!

I'm pleased your AF turned up lady but it must be a double edged sword. Here's to ttc down under...

Loving the namechange yrmotb Grin

Well, work is monumentally shit again. They have offered me a phased return which I have said yes to but also said there are still 'concerns' over my management role and that we would still need to have some 'difficult conversations.'

Long story short I can give up £2500 per year or I can fight on and either a) succeed and be given the chop via a reshuffle or b) fail and be taken to capabilty.

I'm just so exhausted by it all and really just want to say I give up and hand back my management stuff. Obviously this isn't over yet. I still want a baby and whether I get pg and go off on mat leave (with significant mentaling inbetween) or I get pg and mc again it's just not good for doing a good job at work is it?

Long term, yes, it's nice to have the money and be at that particular point in my career but in the next 12-18 months do I really need the hassle?

YouremindmeoftheBFP · 06/05/2011 16:55

battery that's ace! yey for batterybean.

mouse that's a toughy. To be honest, I've always been of the mentality that it's better to be relaxed and happy at work, and if that means less money, and you can afford to then I would be tempted to do that. However, I freely admit I am not overly ambitious. I have left a job previously that pays well in a multiple company where the onus is on sales and targets, for the one I am in now in the Independent sector where customer service is the aim, with less pay. But, only you can know the answer to that question. Good-oh for the phased return though.

MummyAbroad · 06/05/2011 17:45

mouse sounds to me like you are being intimidated into doing something you dont want to. My guess is that it would actually be very difficult for them to force this on you (and IMPOSSIBLE if you were pregnant) so they are trying to get you to do this voluntarily (except it is not voluntary, it is coercion)

I'm like babe and took a big pay cut and career change (I used to be an analyst programmer in the city working 50hours+ a week, now I teach English from home and translate) in order to get a better quality of life and have never regretted it for a second. HOWEVER - this was MY choice and I wasnt forced into anything. If I were you I would stall for time, dont agree to anything and take a good long while to think about what YOU want, and not what they want you to do. Its a big life decision, so dont let them rush you.

(and in the mean time if you get up the duff you can tell them to stuff it 'cos they cant sack you or demote you until after you have finished breastfeeding!!!)

battery YEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH! Nice safe happy bean - that is brill news!!!!! Massive congratulatory hug Grin

AandRMum · 06/05/2011 18:05

mouse mumma is talking sense. I completely get the sense of wanting to give in to the pressure but having been given management responsibility and having fought this long I have a sense it is an important move for you. Sit tight - and see what happens - if you walk away now it will have implications on your maternity pay and on how you come back into work after mini mouse. It is so unfair to have to deal with this on top of everything else but you are strong and this is just a very shitty phase in your life and things have a way of suddenly turning around.

batteryhen · 06/05/2011 18:35

mouse work sounds shit. I have been in a postition like this too. You have to decide what will make you happier (work wise). Are they being like this because you have had time off sick recently? if so that is not fair nor legal. Have they expressed concerns about your management issues before your pregnancy and sickness? At the end of the day - decide which role would make you happier and if you can afford to make changes xxx I wish there were a magic wand I could wave for you xx

Thank you all for your lovely wishes. I am desperate for all our ladies to get BFPs now too.:)
