No AF Could I still be ovulating?

Sorry if this has been asked before but I can't find any clear info on my searches.

I'm breastfeeding my 10.5 month old DD and my periods still have not returned. I understand it's possible to "catch the first egg" in which case I wouldn't have a period (obv being pregnant), but could I still be ovulating regularly, and just be unaware as having no AF?

Or is ovulation always followed by AF unless pregnancy occurs?
I've been impatiently awaiting the return of my period before we start SWI, as we would like to get cracking with TTC no.2 asap.
But maybe I don't need to wait?
Anyone got any experience/advice?

AF is a result of ov.

Ov is the egg maturing and being released.

Whilst the egg is being released, your hormones are thickening the lining of your uterus. If the egg is fertilised, it'll stick to the lining, if its not then it'll all come unattached and pass out - AF.
