Can surgery make ovulation late???

Hi I was due on yesterday but come on on fri instead bleeding only lasted a day. Today I have tender breast and thin discharge. Had sex 6 days before i bled on fri. Is it possible i ovulated late and theres not enuf hormone for a test

Any stress can delay ovulation. I would keep an eye in things for a bit longer. Testing wise do you mean pregnancy?

Yes I was due on monday its now wed its strange coz what i had thought was my period i noticed late fri night when i went to the toilet and wiped it was brown on the sat but not heavy then gone by the sun. I think its just the cause of the surgery to be honest but was just having abit of wishful thinking been trying since oct x

What kind of surgery did you have? I had a lap & dye and it did seem to make my period late. If you had it done before you were due to ovulate

Having said that, brown spotting could be the elusive 'implantation bleed' (although it seems like few on Mumsnet have actually had this as a symptom - it seems to be one of those things that gives false hope - grrrr).

If your period is three days late you'll be ok to do a test. If it's neg and AF still hasn't arrived in a few days try again. Good luck!

I had surgery to have my gallbladder out, I was always regular AF and ovulating. The month following my surgery I had a 32 day cycle.

The stress you're under and the recovery that your body goes through knocks this off slightly for a bit.

I had a gastric hernia op. and it was a couple of days before I think i should of ovulated. Iv had to children and with my oldest had one heavy bleed andtwo light periods so by the time i went for my 1st scan i thought i was 9 wks amn turned out i was 18 and a half weeks x
