Does anyone know much about endometriosis?

My identical twin sister has just rung to tell me she's got it. I've been doing a bit of googling and it seems to be at least partly genetic which doesn't bode well.

I had (have?) endo, with chocolate cysts that was lasered and cyst drained by laparoscopy 6yrs ago. I have since had 2DC, first one a bit of a surprise as always assumed conceiving may be hard, and DC2 after only 2m of trying.

I think a lot of the time it depends where the endo is.

Hi Level, both myself and my sister have suffered from endometriosis. My only symptom was infertility and once I was treated, I conceived the first month of trying, my sister had a lot if pain but had no problem conceiving at all. I think endo affects each individual very differently, I seem to remember reading that endo only cause infertility in about 40% of sufferers so don't give up yet.

Are you trying to conceive yet? Maybe if you have been trying for a while it might be worthh visiting your GP and explaining that there is history of endo in your family and are worrying that is affecting your fertility.

Best of luck

Thanks all

I've been ttc for a good while now.

We've been referred to a fertility specialist so will bring it up with him/her.
