My periods last 2 weeks - TTC worries

Hi all!
I am new here and looking for some friendly advice and reassurance!

I am 36 years old and have 2 children aged 13 and 10 and am hoping to have a third.

My concern is that for the last two years my period has lasted for up to two weeks. The first week I have light bleeding before coming on 'properly' at the beginning of the 2nd week. I am struggling to know when it is I'm likely to be ovulating and I'm so worried that my protracted period will effect my chances of conceiving. My doctor has said i shouldn't be worried as my 'cycle' is regular but I am wondering if anyone else is experiencing anything similar while TTC?

(my partner and I have been ttc for about 5 months now)

Many thanks for any advice! xxx

Sorry - no similar experience but thought your post shouldn't go un answered.

If you're not happy with your doctor's advice you should definitely ask for a second opinion.

hope that helps...

Thanks so much for responding :) Yes, I think I will go back to the doctors if we have no success next month!
