Hello, I am on clomid - on my 6th cycle. I have polycystic ovaries and my DH has morphology issues so we are going to start IVF if the clomid hasn't worked in the next cycle or two.

How are you feeling on it?

I hope you are OK and don't have too many side effects. And obviously fingers crossed it does the trick for you this cycle Smile

I am feeling ok Smilelast month i wasn't as good Sadbut was taking the tablets in the morning and someone told me 2 take them in the evening.
I had a blood test day 21 last month and ovulated 96 i have not been told to have one this month.
They only gave me 2 months worth and to go back after this month if not successfull.
I thought they only gave you 6 months on clomid?
Did yu have to go for follow ups?

I was prescribed Clomid 12 months after Recurrent MCs, unexplained infertility, no issues with tubes/partner etc. Took 12 cycles of 50mg,with no success...went to my consultant and he played with the idea of 100mg, but then said no would try 50mg for another 3 months while he referred me to an ivf clinic. Anyway at x-mas,I took the law into my own hands and doubled the dose then got pg in Feb, although I mc at 5 wks ( which was my initial reason for seeing a consultant- told my consultant what I had done and he was fine with it and told me to stay on 100mg) Clomid finally worked!

I turned into a pyscho when taking the pills. Also had hot flushes, was off ttc (not the results u expect from a fertility aid!!)and felt very confused. But it worked and now I am ready to try again....My sister was also on clomid with NO symptons and has 2 lovely girls...

Best of luck!

Hi Emma, you can take clomid for up to 12 months (sometimes even more) but they recommend you take a break for a cycle or two after six months. I took a break after 4 months as DH was away when I was due to ovulate ... so I can take it for a few more months and should be fine.

Your day 21 tests sound great though - with that level of progesterone, I'm sure you'll be pg in no time Smile

emmaloupolman · 11/03/2011 21:18

Yh i was surprised as last october my progesterone was 24.

Are you being monitored whilst on Clomid

Yes, I have a scan every month before the HCG shot and I've had one day 21 test and one post ov scan to confirm ovulation

Quite dull to have to do it all but v glad it's available as it's nice and reassuring to see the follicles each month!

emmaloupolman · 12/03/2011 18:27

I had a blood test day 21 last month but thats all

Success rates on Clomid depend on what the problem with. For unexplained fertility it is quite high 50-60% but if you are being treated for anovulatory infertility my consultant told me that falls to about 25%.
