Muscus after ovulation

Hi ladies. A question that has probably been covered many times before i know, but i am so impacient at the minute i didnt feel like trawling through posts to find an answer.... I ovulated on the 28th of Feb, now i know your supposed to "dry up" after ovulation if an egg hasnt been fertilsed, so a week after ovulation and i am quite wet down there, have been loosing a small amount of discharge, firstly being wet and slippery, now it has become white and tacky, although i am loosing some that is clear and egg white?? Im confused. Is this a possible indication of pregnancy? Or am i clutching at straws? Should i have dried up by now or not?

Hi Babyborn, i think i asked this question a while ago as i had the same thing. After reading TCOYF, i read that we can have an oestrogen surge about a week after ovulation, hence you may notice egg white stuff coming out. I am afraid I don't think it is a symptom of pregnancy...but I am guessing you don't have much longer before you find out for sure. Good luck!

Thanks for replying Joycep! Only another 8 long days left! Where does all of this "drying out" stuff come from then? Is it an old wives tale? I went on to the TCOYF and couldnt find anything on it!? Hmm

My last cycle I had creamy/tacky discharge right upto ERTD arrived so guess it doesn't dry up in all cases. I always get Ewcm just before I'm due on too.

Well it is suppose to dry up pretty much immediately after ovulation because you are no longer fertile and so no need for the egg white stuff to help swimmers up there. but in the book TCOYF it says you may get this oestrogen surgen a week after ovulation...obviously totally unrelated to ovulation. Also on fertility friend it says that you can't tell whether you are pregnant or not from cervical secretions.

Anyway 8 days is a good amount of time to spot for more symptoms !!

Thanks Twizzel, the only reason i ask is because i dried up last month as dont usually produce CM at this point in my cycle. Only been TTC since January and it didnt happen last month, nor did it happen with any other time ive not been using contraception whilst TTC.

Thanks again Joycep! Was just hoping it was a good sign as i always thought that CM at around this time in my cycle was a good thing! I will update you!

I am still getting CM that looks like glue? I was due my period yesterday, and still no show of it? This is stressing me out.

Any ideas?

Babyborn I hope it's good news for you! I have a similar thing in that I tend to get EWCM for much longer than the "normal" couple of days around ovulation. I am on clomid at the moment and have to have scans and HCG injections each month so I know exactly when I ov and the EWCM lasts almost up to ERTD.

I think my cervix hasn't read the guidelines on when to be mucusy and when to dry up ...

Fingers crossed yours is a precursor to a BFP!
