! I've been lurking for a while and figured it's about time I jumped in & joined the party!
So, to get straight to the point, has anybody got any experience of TTC with GnRH Pulsatile Therapy? Back when I was about 19 I was diagnosed with a hormone condition that basically means my hypothalamus has stopped sending any signals (GnRH) to my piturity gland, who in turn no longer sends any FSH or LH onto my ovaries, and as a result I do not ovulate. Haven't had any periods for over 10 years - woohoo!! The effect on my body was identical to menopause, but the cause was different. Anywhoo, I'd got my head round not having a family and was actually excited about a life without kids... but, things change (with age?!) and my partner & I have decided to try to for a baby :o. I'm waiting for my appt with a fertility clinic but previous consultants have said that if I did ever want to try for a baby they could 'kick start' my reproductive system with GnRH Pulsatile Therapy. Anyone else TTC (or had a baby!) with this?! I've had a dig around Mumsnet and other internet TTC sources but haven't really seen it mentioned anywhere.
FYI - In case you're wondering, my understanding of this treatment is that you have to wear a small device that gives you an injection every 90 minutes, to mimic the pulsing hormone release of the hypothalamus and stimulate the ovaries into releasing an egg.
Am a little nervous (but incredibly excited to be ttc) and just wanted to find out as much as I can before starting any treatment...
