strange period after erpc - reassure me?

not sure where to post it but hoped someone from the trying again after miscarriage threads would see it and help.

had erpc 4 weeks ago after a blighted ovum. I bled for 8 days, got antibiotics and the bleeding quickly tailed off and stopped after another couple of days. Period started exactly 28 days after the op but it is weird. Very very light for the first day, then really heavy for two days, then totally stopped, then started up reasonably heavy (but normal for me) again.

I know it's normal to have a heavy or v light period but this stop start is really odd, and i'm scared it's something to do with the miscarriage rather than a proper period.

can anyone advise?

Sorry to hear about your blighted ovum, I had the same, discovered at my 12 week scan last October. it's a very cruel thing to happen, and my hormones were all over the place as I'm sure are yours.
I think it's a good sign your period has returned, my first was really light. I'd say if you're worried about the level of blood then to give your gp a call, which is slightly hypocritical of me as I never go to the doctors. Anyhoo, at the least, make sure you get lots of iron, 8 days of bleeding after erpc was not my experience and I feel for you, your body probably needs a good dose of spinach by now!
I'm being a bit useless but did not want you to go unanswered, I started a thread after my mc and felt really unpopular when no-one replied for a bit!
By the way, try not to mn too much as you'll give yourself all sorts of conditions!

I havent had my first period after mc yet but I've been advised that if it's red ie. Fresh it's your normal period, if its old blood it's leftovers from the mc. Have you done a pg test to check you haven't still hot pg hormones in your body?

I would second sparklywine, see your gp if you are concerned.

I would say go and see your doctor and they can get you another scan to check everything's ok. I had an ERPC in 2009 after a missed mc and I had spotting every day for a couple of months. They scanned me and couldn't find anything wrong. I was so worried that they had done some permanent damage to me but I guess it was just my hormones. No one ever had an explanation. It's so unfair isn't it, as it's just a constant reminder of what happened.
6 months later, when I had the mental strength to try again, I got pregnant and now have a gorgeous DS, so there is light at the end of the tunnel!
