I don't really know enough to comment as I've only studied my own DH's analysis, but the morphology and count look good, and motility ok.

It just made me smile as I was wondering what your DH would say if he knew you were publishing his results for open discussion (mine would go bonkers, but it wouldn't stop me from doing it)

Would you say they are good enough to fall pregnant naturally?

Just 6 months, but husband had a testicle removed so he wanted to get checked.

They look good to me! my DP total sperm count was 6!!! yes 6...the lab wrote on the bottom of results we should go straight away for ICSI.

That was 6 months ago, I'm currently 17+3

Better than my DHs, we were referred straight for IVF due to that and my age but fell pregnant naturally thank goodness. Best get SWIing :)

Oh waterbaby - i can tell you are panicking a bit. Don't stress, take a deep breath.
Have you talked to your doctor about what you can do to increase motility? Have you put your DH on vitamins, banned alcohol etc?? His other results look superb, way above average...his morphology and sperm count are excellent so does this give some leeway in motility?

Yep I have got him on vitamins, and he is cutting back on drinking....sorry bit of a worrier!

Sorry if my reply seemed a bit flippant, waterbaby! You are obviously worried. Zinc can help too, either a supplement or lots of pumpkin seeds! Also I would make sure he isn't having too many hot baths and wears loose underpants, I know that sounds a bit daft but over heating can affect sperm quality. We did all of the above plus he took wellman conception, cut down on drinking, regular but moderate exercise and my DHs second test came back normal. It might have been that the first one was a blip or it might have been all the things he did improved them.

but 6 months is not long so try not to worry too much!

A little low across the spectrum, not disastrous but not good either, the thing is we had just got back from holiday which involved a lot more drinking, late night etc than usual. So this could have affect his results. Or it might have been a summer of cutting all those things back that got them back up. It's not wise to get too hung up on one test as lots of different things can affect it the results and they can vary a lot. And considering he's firing on one cylinder so to speak his don't look bad at all!

If you are really worried about it ask your GP or consultant to talk you through them and advise if there is anything else he can do to improve the motility. I am surprised they gave you the results without doing that actually.

6 months isn't that long to be trying, tho so try not to worry!!

Hi waterbaby we're waiting for DH's results to come back so do sympathise with the worrying.

I've endlessly googled various things about swimmers, tips to improve etc. and although this is not at all medical I have read a few things that would say that although your DH may not have brilliant mortility, everything else looks pretty good, so although he might have quite a few not-so-good swimmers, he'll actually still have quite a lot of good swimmers in numerical terms. Hope that makes some sense and doesn't worry you further. And as others say, I've read plenty of posts here and elsewhere about results changing from one test to another.
