TTC after implant removal

Just looking for some advice really. DH and I are hoping to TTC in July when my implant 'runs out'. We were going start TTC at Christmas but plans changed a lot so back to July now.

Just wondering how long it took to concieve after having it removed or how long it took for your periods to return to normal. If it helps my periods didn't alter at all with the implant. I was on the depo injection for 9 months but this was around 3 years ago. Periods almost non existent with this but have returned to normal (well, what is normal for me!).

Any advice greatly received!

Hiya, I have the implant in at the moment, We wont be ttc when mine runs out (will be having it replaced straight away) My friend had implannon out 2nd week in December and had positive test 3rd week of January! She was ttc so was over the moon, didn't have a proper period just a little bleeding, not sure how much this helps you but didn't want your post to go unanswered! :)

Thanks Coffee! Well thats reassuring. I have been told your fertility returns to normal after a week or so, but wondered if that was an old wives tale!
I'll have to wait and see I suppose!

i got preganant as soon as implant removed! honeymoon baby. it was my third implant as well

I had implant out in January and am TTC. Haven't had a period since but have been charting using my last period on implant as my last period. Think I've ovulated but have had BFN and am waiting for period now - big temp drop today so suspect it will arrive later today or tomorrow.

Yes, they do say it returns almost instantly so with any luck it'l happen for you too!

Got period today so 35 days from last period with implant still in or 30 from date of removal (my cycles always used to be a clockwork 30 days before implant). So looks like things have got back to normal very quickly - my FF chart is extremely "standard".

im having my implant out on thurs. im having what i call my implant period now but they say u will have a bleed once its removed so how do i work out when im ovulating?
getting really excited reading about how quick it can happen, ive read posts on other site where people have been ttc for awhile :)

I had mine removed April 2009, my periods didn't return properly until October 2009 and I didn't fall pregnant for 13 months after this...it can take a LONG time for things to get back to normal so you need to be patient.

Just so you have some comparisons, my sister had hers out (first implant) and was pg 2 months later. I had mine out (8 years + no periods) and it took a few months before my cycles 'regulated' although they are still unpredictable. We've not managed to conceive yet but I ovulate every month so things are working properly it apoears!

I didn't have bleeds when on implanon.

Had it removed 14th March and bfp on 15th April.

f.y.i. if you are having unprotected sex in the days before you get it removed you'll give yourself a head start if you release the egg quickly, as the sperm will survive inside you for a few days (5?). Take this advice with a pinch of salt though, as I'm no expert and really have no clue how ovulation actually works!

u found out same day as me. i ovulated on 3rd april, due date dec 25 th what a present :)
im 5weeks on sunday x good luck x

Hi, I had my coil removed on 20th April... Having not had AF for about 6 years I have no idea where I am in my cycle, I was kinda hoping to conceive before it came.....fingers crossed!! Congrats Sazzerlou, happened quick for you!!!

eggyweggy start taking EPO capsuals they will help yr cycle return to normal quicker :) good luck

there in the vitamin section at supermarkets take one or 2 aday and they will help yr cycle return to normal and regulate u also help if u bleed heavy xx

I got my implant removed on 03-30-18 and had sex the next day , the day after and the day after that and also yesterday . I heard you can get pregnant that first week but my doctor didn’t tell me that . 04-06-18 I did test it was negative , I felt like it was way too soon I was just being impatient . But 04/07/18 I was cramping and then it stop . No AF showed up . I did have a period while I was on the implant . I usually come on towards the end of the month but lately I been feeling sick and Been very hungry and tired . Can I be pregnant ?
