I was just wondering, as I'm incredibly impatient.

elaborate bex, how far into your cycle are you?

Niddlynono · 17/10/2005 17:25

Sorry, I meant how long after (or before) your AF is due do you take a pregnancy test? I was due yesterday and took one (it was neg) but DH reckons I should have waited at least a few days.

They've done a study on this & the average time for a BFP to show (assuming you are pregnant) is 13.5 days after ovulation. So if you know when you ovulate, then I would try & wait till 14 days after that.

scrobble · 17/10/2005 18:54

I'm in the same boat as you Bex, AF is due Weds (exactly 13 days after ovulation) and I've already done an early pg test and a normal one despite both having a very low success rate at this stage!
(I have got enormous solid achey boobs atm and have had since about 4 days after Clearblue sticks said I was ovulating though - and they just seem to be getting bigger by the day!). Have also had some crampy feelings about 5-6 days ago which have now passed. Have never felt this before so hoping for good news after several months of trying!

Niddlynono · 17/10/2005 19:08

Oh good luck Scrobble. The test I did yesterday was an early one as well, although I haven't tried a normal one yet. Your symptoms sound promising though. When I was PG with DS the first thing I noticed was my boobs. Haven't noticed much with them recently although I have felt a bit, er, different!

Keep us posted won't you? I'll keep my fingers crossed for you too.

PS Thanks Ionaming.

Congratulations Bexi!! Excellent news! You go to the section ante-natal threads, there is one called Due in June 2006. Come and join us there.

Niddlynono · 19/10/2005 09:47

Thanks ladies. See on the other side!!

Congratulations Bex!

Am still hoping - AF would be due today and tested yesterday and this morning but BFN both time - were cheapie tests though!

Still feeling same symptoms and trying to resist going to loo to check - do keep surreptitiously feeling my boobs to see if they're sore though (I do the same with bruises!) and they definitely are, and I don't think it's because of all the poking I've been doing

Janbo25 · 19/10/2005 10:48

Congratulations Bex, will it be your first??

cupcakes · 19/10/2005 10:53

Can you please spell out to me what AF actually stands for? I'm at a loss!

jam3 · 19/10/2005 15:02

"aunt flow" as in period coming......

Niddlynono · 19/10/2005 15:14

Thanks Scrobble & Janbo.

Janbo - no it'll be my 2nd. I already have a gorgeous DS (3).

Scrobble - good luck. The (neg) test I did on Sunday was one of those cheap ones off Ebay which are meant to detect if you're pregnant way before AF (even though I was actually due on Sunday) and then I did a Clear Blue last night so it might be worth getting a proper one.

Fingers crossed for you. And hope to see you on the June thread!!!

Hi all and thanks Bex.

Looks like AF has come after all, bang on time. I'm still hoping that it's just pregnancy 'bedding in' but have a sinking feeling now.

What I don't understand is why, if I'm not pg, I had these symptoms and why are my boobs still huge? I've never had anything like that before. Maybe it's all psychosomatic and I've convinced myself to have them? The breast thing definitely isn't just in my head - I didn't even notice the difference in 'consistency' until DH pointed it out, and there are only a couple of bras that fit OK at the moment!
Maybe by tomorrow I'll have deflated?

Niddlynono · 22/10/2005 11:43

Scrobble, sorry to hear it was neg but have fun trying again and good luck!

Bexi - congrats.... bet youre ssooo chuffed!

i tested myself when i mustve of been 4 weeks gone without knowing i was pg!!

Niddlynono · 22/10/2005 13:09

Thanks Spooky. Four weeks? Were you trying? How many weeks are you now?

We are thrilled. It's really frustrating though as we havne't been able to tell anyone yet (other than MN) and since DH works very long hours, we haven't even had much of a chance to be excited about it together.

We're off to my parents tomorrow so we're going to tell them (hopefully DS (3) won't spill the beans before we do) and then we'll be able to tell a few close friends which will be one hell of a relief. For some reason a lot of friends have been calling us this week out of the blue and it's been torture not being able to say anything. At least I've had MN to share our good news.

I still don't feel pregnant though. Last time my boobs were a tell tale sign but this time, apart from feeling a bit tired and a little light-headed at times I don't really have any other symptoms. I'm sure it'll kick in soon enough!
