I am 8dpo after ovulation on day 17, periods normally arrive at day 31.

BUT today i have some brown discharge (spotting?). This is happening most months since TTC (6 months ago) but what ths hell is it?

Doctors not entirely helpful. It's probably old blood they say. But they can't tell me why it has only been happening for the last six months.

It is so soul destroying when you con yourself into thinking 'Oh it might be implantation bleeding' every month.

I am just sad today. I really really want it.

LS

Bleeding between periods should always be investigated further to ascertain the cause. It sounds like the people you are seeing have no idea at all; time therefore to seek a second opinion. Brown discharge is "old" blood but it needs to be determined where it is actually coming frmo and why. Sometimes spotting is due to cervical erosion, also low progesterone levels can play a role.

Ovulation does not always happen 2 weeks before the start of the next period so your dates may well be incorrect.

You will need to be persistant in order to get answers. Do not be fobbed off.

I get this but I only started noticing when we started ttc no 2. I was diagnosed with cervical erosion during my first preg, I've always assumed it's that. I've been pg twice so don't think it's a progesterone problem. Hope that helps x

Thanks all.

I have been diagnosed with endometriosis, so i think it might be linked to that, but noone will say for certain what it is.

I am just so sad that i am not pregnant yet again.

Just need to wallow a bit and you all help and support in a way RL doesn't

LS I have the exact same thing. I'm not sure if it's only since I've been ttc (10 months) or if I had it before and didn't notice. I tend to have brown discharge for up to a week starting 8dpo until Af finally shows.

I have an appointment for an ultrasound next month, as last month I went to the doctors because I had an actual bleed at 7dpo. Previously the doctors had also been unhelpful.

I'm wondering whether it's a luteal phase problem, or a cervical erosion problem, or not a problem.

If feel just the same as you do every month - wondering, hoping it's IB. FX for you this month.

Let me know if you figure it out!

I'm exactly the same as you greenygrassy , I felt do silly that I didn't know if I'd always had this or just since ttc, it makes me feel a bit better that I'm not the only one! :) I guess I just never paid much attention before! I just wanted to add to what I said earlier that I had a scan in dec and it was all fine (I was actually about to have a bfp a few weeks later but mc at 11 weeks), I really think it is just cervical erosion maybe irritated by all the extra bedroom antics ;) !
