WTF? Period 5 days early!

Okay, what the hell is going on? How come I'm on, eh? That seems most unfair. I didn't even get any could-this-be-early-pregnancy-oh-no-it's-pms-again type symptoms as a warning this time.

There I am, just minding my own business, not peeing on sticks a week early or anything, and I find bleeding happening.

I mean, I've been late by a day before, but NEVER early.

What the freaky heck is all that about?

Confused

Well... As far as I've gathered from this site there could be two reasons: 1) that you ovulated earlier in your cycle; or 2) that you are experiencing implantation bleeding, therefore pregnant. Then there is the possibility that if could be a whole host of things which I have no knowledge of! Let's hope that a) someone more knowledgeable comes along soon and b) keeping my fingers crossed that you get the result you seek:-)x

ItsNotUnusual · 19/02/2011 23:38

Ahem. I never get my period early but i did in December. Definitely not an imlantation bleed. Far too heavy. 4 weeks later I got a BFP :) . So I have no idea what it means but I hope you get the result you want soon.

openerofjars · 19/02/2011 23:44

Damn, rational people! Grin

That's mostly where I'd got to as well, but you give me hope.

Anyone got the ability to look into the future by 5 days & tell me whether I'm pregnant or not?

Just please don't tell me to wait & POAS. That would be faaaaaaaar too sensible. And no fun.

Thanks for the x fingers. Smile

This has been happening to me, but am afraid I think it was because I had a very early miscarriage and that's messed up my cycle Sad

But I have heard to people who have a heavy bleed and then got a positive shortly afterwards.

This trying for a baby thing is terribly cruel, but hope that you get a BFP soon.

goingmadtrying · 20/02/2011 11:29

you could test Grin just being a little way out there lol

LateToTheTTCParty · 20/02/2011 14:01

openerofjars I had the same thing this month, I thought AF had arrived 6 days early - like you, very unexpected and without and of the normal pms things, cramps etc. It lasted about a day and a half and was heavy enough to need to use tampons, but then it just stopped.

I have no idea what to think, but am not building up my hopes (yeah, right, who am I kidding!) - will POAS in the next day or so, AF was supposed to be on Monday so will leave it till then and give it a go. Everyone has said implantation bleeding is more like spotting, but then I have friends who have had heavier bleeds right through their pregnancies with no problems whatsoever - it's all very confusing, isn't it! Confused

Leave it until you were due on and test then, you never know! Wink

Lettie70 · 21/02/2011 12:47

I had a miscarriage in August last year at only 7 wks and since then my periods have been coming early every single month. Last month was 5 days early. I use to be 28 days like clockwork. I never get a chance to use a pregnancy test so at least it's cheap but it's really infruriating! I have resorted to Acupuncture to help.

LateToTheTTCParty · 21/02/2011 19:37

Well, I just did a test as this was the day I should have come on if I hadn't had the early bleeding - BFN Sad
I thought I was probably being a bit optimistic, never mind...

openerofjars · 23/02/2011 11:19

Deal me out, ladies, this month's ship has sailed out on the ERTD.

Arse.

Do not ask how many sticks I have weed on this month. Blush

Good luck, my dears, and I hope to see you on the pregnancy boards soon.

Well... It was so easy to offer my pennys worth to you: openerofjars- but I'm in exactly the same predicament as you now! Exactly five days early: today. Unheard of with me. Started a thread. Then remembered yours! Please keep fx for me that it's implantation bleed! I'm hoping everything happens for us all soon. This ttc is just so draining!

openerofjars · 23/02/2011 15:35

Fingers duly crossed, hoping you get your positive test result.

Hi,

I feel your pain!!!!!!!!

I had AF turn up early last month.

After the initial disappointment, & necking my nice bottle of white I decided it was better that way as I had not wasted the following week going Am I? arn't I? Horrible witch!

Good luck chick xx

openerofjars · 24/02/2011 18:33

Still going here. Bloody hell, literally. I don't want to put anyone off their dinner, but I swear I am actually visibly shorter than I was 2 days ago, from sheer blood loss. I couldn't actually be any less pregnant if I was a 70 year old nun, or a man, or something.

C'mon, diamonds, how's it going? Give us hope!

Diamondsamdrubies · 24/02/2011 19:35

Lol openerofjars! Well... After that bit of brown spotting on knickers yesterday lunchtime, nothing: until this lunchtime again: nothing since then. Very strange. Nips very very sore: never experienced them like this before. Very very crampy- just like period is coming. The cramps are in my lower back/ almost in my bottom. Don't know what to make of it at all. Running to toilet every two seconds expecting period to be there: nada. Certainly hope that it amounts to something- but period not due until Monday?!
As I ovulated earlier in the cycle- does that also mean period should be earlier too? Or is that not how it works? Oh well we'll find out soon enough. Just keep those fingers firmly crossed for me please: openerofjars! I will owe you big time if your good vibes make it happen for us! xxxxxxxx

Diamondsamdrubies · 28/02/2011 06:20

Quick update: JUST done a test: BFP! Can't quite believe it ... Shaking like a leaf. Please keep those fingers crossed Openerofjars- it was due to you keeping them crossed that I am where I am- and I want to stay here: please! The major period style cramping is freaking me out. Period was due today. Praying fervently it stays away. x

openerofjars · 28/02/2011 08:49

Aw, congratulations! If it helps, I had major cramping in the early weeks (went to A&E at one point!) but the cause of all the worry is currently sitting on his bedroom floor "reading" a picture book right now.

Here's wishing you a kind and easy pregnancy x

OP posts:
Diamondsamdrubies · 28/02/2011 09:25

Thankyou so much for your kind thoughts Hun! Still not sunk in yet! How long did the cramping last? Mine shows no signs of easing up. Cramping very similar to period pain: only much stronger- in lower back and "down there". Hope it sticks. Also keeping fingers crossed to you getting your BFP very soon xxxxx

kateepie2 · 28/02/2011 12:24

Diamonds I ended up at the walk in centre a week ago because of cramps around my bikini line - in agony - was told its just things 'knitting' and not to worry. For me its worse if I need to go to the loo, so if I make sure I go as soon as I feel I need a poo it helps.

Everything is stretching and changing down there, so I suppose its not unreasonable, but its worrying all the same Wink

Diamondsamdrubies · 28/02/2011 19:46

Kateepie: how far gone are you Hunni? Is this your first too? I'm experiencing more intense cramps when going to the loo too! If you don't mind mexasking how old are you?

Diamondsamdrubies · 28/02/2011 19:49

Reason for asking: I'm no spring chicken: both Dh and I are in late thirties- and I think it may be due to my age that I am experiencing these severe cramps?!

openerofjars · 28/02/2011 23:21

Sorry, I can't remember. It was three years ago and to be honest other pregnancy and baby stuff kind of takes over.

All the best, I really mean it. I'm back off to the TTC boards, wish me luck, eh?

OP posts:
Diamondsamdrubies · 28/02/2011 23:48

Wishing you lots of luck. Sending loads of positive vibes your way Hun. Keeping everything crossed for you. Seriously hope that this is the last AF you see this year! Good luck. Xxxx:-)

kateepie2 · 01/03/2011 08:07

diamonds I'm 30 and am 7+2 - yep its my first :)

fx for next time openerofjars x

Diamondsamdrubies · 01/03/2011 08:51

Tangerinejack · 21/08/2013 18:53

Hi all
I'm new to this site thought i'd ask for some advice. :)
I've started what I think may be my period today but after speaking to mother dearest and reading comments on here i'm now not so sure. If it is my period I'm 4 days early but it's not like me at all. I've been 1 or 2 days late before or 1 day early but never 4!
I've been told I may have endometriosis so I'm worried i'll have difficulty getting pregnant if at all. I've not had my hospital appt through yet and I am trying not to get my hopes up but is there a chance that I could be pregnant? Maybe I'm over thinking things because I'm scared I'll not be able to convceive. Any advice would be greatly received
