thought they may be a baby ooops brewing as still haven't had period and DD is 10 months but just tested negative- and feel really disappointed :( although DH is relieved!!

Guess its for the best as not even back at work yet- going in April when DD is one year old, but wondered if you ladies would share how long it took to conceive your 2nd bubs. I want there to be a 2.5 year gap so was thinking of starting TTC around this Xmas, but have heard so many stories from friends who struggled 2nd time round, after falling pregnant really easily first time (it took us 2 months first time) plus I am still BF DD 2 feeds a day...

OP posts:

DS was born when DD was 4.5yo - he's an IVF baby as we had/have secondary infertility.

Well you did ask Grin - sorry.

felicity10 · 19/02/2011 21:29

Have had the same concerns OP. MY DD is just one and we're just deciding to get on with no.2 but I don't want to have a baby at christmas, so we're holding off for a couple of months, but sods law, it will take ages! DD was third time lucky.

hellymelly · 19/02/2011 21:32

with DD1 feeding at least 7 times a day,I conceived dd2 the first night we tried (at 42) so it might be faster than you think!!

cece · 19/02/2011 21:34

8 months for first one
2 months for second one
9 months for third one

TheGoddessBlossom · 19/02/2011 21:38

Concieved DS 2 on first month of trying. Grin

Odelay · 19/02/2011 21:38

About an hour and a half.

There will be exactly 2 years between them

goingmadtrying · 20/02/2011 08:17

it took me the same amount of time to concieve my first as my second after coming off the pill, good luck with ttc maybe you wont have to try after all, if your AF doesnt arrive it may be worth trying in a few days Grin

loonyrationalist · 20/02/2011 08:25

Dd1 first month of trying. Dd2 first month of trying (within an hour of us deciding to go for it) Blush

goingmadtrying · 20/02/2011 08:31

That is quick loony Grin

Bumpsadaisie · 20/02/2011 08:33

DD1 first time round. Now expecting DC2 who took 2 cycles. Very early days though so hoping and praying all is well in there. There will be 2yrs 5mths between them.

Feel incredibly lucky to have got pg so quickly esp as am 36 so while not ancient no spring chick either!

giggly · 20/02/2011 14:05

First one not trying just drunkBlush 2nd 2 long, hard, lots of tears years.

greatauntbetty · 20/02/2011 14:31

1 and 2 took a rather embarrassingly short amount of time and tbo this is the main reason I don't post regularly on the TTC threads - my problems are very small compared to most of the thread titles here so would feel a bit of a fraud, which is quite Sad as its not something you can get support for in RL.

Number 3 on the other hand is showing no signs of appearing after a year. No idea why and too much of a wimp to go see the GP. Am convinced I would be told something along the lines of 'well you have 2 already so what more do you want/nothing to be done/you are over 35 now' type thing. Which am sure wouldn't be said in those words but probably something similar .

So probably not very helpful to the OP!

randomimposter · 20/02/2011 20:27

No 1 came along by accident.
TTC#2 when he turned one.
Got pg first month, but MMC@13 weeks.
Got pg third month, but MMC@11 weeks.
Got pg first month, but MMC@12 weeks.
Have now been TTC for 5 cycles with no success.

thegauntlet · 20/02/2011 20:49

we have been trying since November ( DD 6months), but no luck yet- ( now 8.5 months) and I have stopped feeding completely to ttc 2 weeks ago.

We have a bit of a timescale planning to leave the uk for a malarial country June 2012 and would need #2 to be on solids to take the malaria prophylaxis... but now we are reaching deadline and i guess it isn't in my hands anywayHmmSmile

Talking about 'feeling a baby brewing' yep... it is a wierd feeling.. trying to not to think myself into a phantom prego. ( POAS BFN 3 days ago) Dunno when to retest as I haven't had a AF yet

All the very best. ( jollster- thinking of you)

getawiggleon · 20/02/2011 21:42
