I've been told no such thing as false positive. The test reacts to the pregnancy hormone. Are you certain it is not an evaporate line? Definately a pink line? If so, congratulations.

False positives are v rare. If a line came up in the designated time, it's positive. And early tests can pick up pregnancy this early.

The danger with early testing- and I in no way want to wish this on you at all -is that they pick up chemical pregnancies too. They're quite common and often you wouldn't know about them if you didn't test early.

Tentative congratulations. Smile

A chemical pregnancy is where the sperm and egg meet, hcg starts to be produced (and you can pick it up with a pregnancy test) but for whatever reason the pregnancy isn't actually viable. So maybe something wrong with the egg or sperm. It stops developing, doesn't implant as a viable pregnancy would and you have a period as normal, or slightly late. The only way you'd know is by testing early. It's estimated that this can occur in up to 50% of cycles while ttc and we're only so aware of them now because we can test so early.
