Hit & Miss cycle after coil removal BUT could I be pregnant?

Hi - I had my Mirena (hormonal) coil removed in Nov2010 as we decided to try for #3. My period came a few days later. For the first time I decided to educate myself on ovulation/cycles because I wanted to conceive in 2011 and complete our family with #2 being close in age to #3. I have never bothered before as previously we've had no 'time frame'.

Anyway, I noted start of my period after coil removal and dutifully counted the days - my next period started on day 28....great. Then in January my period arrived on day 25....lasted couple of days.

BUT so far no period this month (day 34 today). Though trying we have not had sex since my Jan period...me, DH & both DD's have all had flu/chest infections/eye infections etc. so not much in the mood!

So, daft question but could I be pregnant? I haven't done a test because I suspect it's just a hormonal change and that's why so much later than previous 2 periods. That said I have never missed a period before and not been pregnant....Confused

Think I'll just wait until next weekend and if still no show will test....

Thoughts/similar experiences welcomed though.....

Thanks :)

I got pregnant after having my coil removed, and I mean the day after Blush I gave birth to DS3 40 weeks to the day of it's removal (he was v late, possibly to make up for his quick conception)! So yes you could be pregnant. Just do the test and you'll know.

Umm, but I've had a period since last time had sex that's what's throwing me....

Yeah, will do test in the morning if nothing happens period wise overnight.....

Thanks

I am in a similar situation, however only had my coil out 14th of Jan and would have thought i would have come on by now. I have sore boobs, and have weed 14 times already since 3am today. I have JUST done my own thread on this too. I hope you get a fast answer and you either come on or have a positive pregnancy test!

It could be that your flu etc has delayed ovulation which in turn will delay your period.

Just out of curiosity, and naivety - implantation bleeding - how heavy is it normally?
It's not something I had with my previous pregnancies....but could it account for the 'period' I seem to have had in January, which was quite short...2/3 days I think...? Hmm

Cheers

any comments/experiences of implantation bleeding? Confused

I never had any implantation bleeding with either of my pregnancues. How heavy was your "period"?

mumtojandk · 13/02/2011 20:58

Ifatfirst...
it was medium/heavy, regular period colour and consistancy. Having looked into it further it's not going to be implantation bleeding.

It may just be vaginal bleeding....for whatever reason. I have no reason to think could have been an mc because colour was normal red, no brown etc.

I've got a test so will do it in the morning and put my mind at rest. If negative and no period this week will do another in a week. I can't remember how far gone I was before I tested positive in my other pregnancies, but think it was about 6weeks.

I doo seem to remember 'feeling' pregnant with DD#2.....not sure how I feel now...sore boobs usually my first hint!!

Thanks for all advice...

I had my mirena out June last year, and like you bled few days afterwards, and then 28 days. That was the end of normality Wink!! Next cycle was 34, then back to 27 and they continued with a longer cycle followed by a shorter one. Was very odd!

It took my 6 months to get bfp, although sadly I had a mmc a month ago. Just waiting for af to return now.
