I have a 6mth review at the fertility clinic on Valentines day. This month for the first time ever I've tried an O.P.K. Oh yes forgot to mention that I also chart my temperatures every day-yes desperate! Have a DD who's nearly 5 and been ttc for nearly 2 1/2yrs should I give up now HELP................. Anyone got any secret tips to stop me going bonkers! 36 this year-scary..........

Has your FSH level been tested, and if so, how often? What are the numbers?

It has been years since I was on Clomid, but FSH levels were very important to my consultant.

Blackkat · 12/02/2011 20:39

Hi plum so sorry you are feeling this way
Don't give up!

Have the clinic/hosp been monitoring your cycle - do you/they know you have been ovulating?

FWIW I've just done 6x cycles Clomid, my gynae, who I trust very much, said that bcs they'd got dosage right and I was o/v, then he would more than happy to let me have another 3x months. I am 34 BTW.

plumblusher · 12/02/2011 20:51

Early bird & Black cat thanks for the speedy reply. Had so many tests back in the summer-what are FSH levels?????? Hosp found that I am ovulating and know that I am because I chart my temps. Hope they do offer me more Clomid-felt like I had a better chance then. It is so hard staying positive.

Glad to hear you are o/v. That's great news.
Hope they give you what you want on Monday. Thinking of you and sending you lots of luck for a BFP (hugs)

piprabbit · 12/02/2011 21:01

Just wanted to say good luck on Monday.

I took Clomid for 3 months, and then fell pregnant the month after I stopped. Make of that what you will...

plumblusher · 12/02/2011 21:03

And to you too. Hope your 3mths of Clomid do the trick I truly do xx

FSH = Follicle Stimulating Hormone.

My FSH levels were tested every month. When they were on the high side of the scale, my doctor suggested I not take Clomid on those months because the chances of achieving a pregnancy were reduced. It was a way of conserving my mental/emotional energy and bank balance.

I just wanted to say that i've used clomid a few times & i tend to get pregnant the cycle after stopping the clomid too.

I'm also a big believer in herbal products but i know lots of people don't believe in them.

plumblusher · 13/02/2011 19:52

Thank you all for your responses. I have heard a few people say that they've fallen pregnant after clomid so maybe this month is my month. Got a positive line on my O.P.K today so will be 'busy' later! Early bird thanks for the link about FSH levels-very helpful. Maybe in 12 days I'll be posting 'who needs clomid-I did it by myself' Smile

Serendipity: when you say herbal: which ones do you mean exactly?

JetLi · 13/02/2011 22:10

Maca worked for me.

Desperatelyworriedmum · 13/02/2011 22:16

Jetli: what doseage and which cycle days?

BigGLittleG · 13/02/2011 22:45

Has your partner's sperm been tested? Almost half of all fertility issues are male related.

JetLi · 13/02/2011 22:50

500mg every day. This is the one I used - you can get it in the UK as well - I wanted capules and at the time this was the only option I could find. It's worth going through the order process with iHerb though and converting to £ just to see - their International shipping is really very reasonable, and pretty fast too. If you do end up using them, you can add some freebies to your order (but only things which are light - shipping is calculated by weight - avoid the books!). Men can take it to, although my DP didn't.

serendipity16 · 14/02/2011 13:58

I used she oak flower essence & got pregnant twice using it, sadly i lost both very early on BUT that was due to something else. I really think it did help.... i had been struggling to get pregnant for over a year.

I also used welcome womb when i did get pregnant with my last baby. With my first 5 children i bled in each pregnanct, quite often very heavily. I used welcome womb with this pregnancy & didn't even have a speck of blood. I know of women who've also used this after not being able to conceive & fell pregnant using this. Only down side was that i had to order from america but it arrived very quickly. I truely believe in this product.

I know some will dismiss these kinds of products but i always think that its worth trying everything if nothing previously has worked.

I know of women who have had

plumblusher · 14/02/2011 20:49

O.K just incase you're interested-have been offered a laparoscopy on the N.H.S or otherwise I.V.F privately which could cost £4,5000! Oh what a dilemma. So desperately frustrating considering that neither of us have a problem (unexplained fertility). I think a laparoscopy is the next step for me Sad

OP posts:
sucessful · 14/02/2011 21:01

I had IVF several times all paid for after several years of trying to get pregnant. Both unexplained fertility.

1st try produced dc1 (£5000), 2nd try produced dts (£4,500) and then I had an accidental pregnancy when dts were 8mths which ended in miscarriage Sad decided to see if it would happen again and it did and dc4 was born.

The point I am making is that dh worked shift work and I thought I was ovulating on day 14 so for all those years were weren't doing the right thing at the right time. Both my natural pregnancies were conceived on day 9 of my cycle.

As it is unexplained, could something like this be the problem?

I am wishing you all the luck in the world

sucessful · 14/02/2011 21:03

I also had the lap (as mentioned in your other thread) as I had endo which was zapped, but this was before the IVF. I would most definatly have it done - you have nothing to lose

plumblusher · 15/02/2011 18:49

sucessful wow what a story.I do chart my temps so know from EWCM, cervix position and shift in temps when I am ovulating and this month I used an O.P.K which showed a positive line (which I found extremely exciting-god knows why!)I have been pg 4 times and on pg 3 had DD by CS. These pg's have all been 'natural' but after trying for over 2yrs,I wonder what the problem is.DH has phoned the hosp for an app for the lap-at least I have tried every avenue then. I long to post on here and say I got my BFP but if I don't I need to know I did all I could.Smile

plumblusher · 04/03/2011 13:24

Hi all I'm a newbie.

I have had my first round of clomid, progesterone level was 61.9 but started period 2 days ago just started second cycle. was so disappointed as was feeling really postive that it would work. I have unexplained fertility and take brocromptine to manage my prolactin levels in my pitituary gland as I am making too much of it. Hoping this 2nd cycle will bring me luck!
