it's a fertility drug

the most commonly used I think and is designed to stimulate the ovaries

can only be used for 12 months maximum

Sproglet · 12/02/2011 09:59

Hi I personally haven't used it but I am sure someone with more knowledge will be along soon. My understanding is that it is a drug to help you ovulate more regulary or if you have stopeed ovulating to encourage you to start again Good Luck xx

Sorry message posted just after activate so please don't take it the wrong wayGrin

is it an injection and have you any idea of its sucess rates

I've had it to help me conceive as I have polycystic ovaries so don't ovulate normally. It contains 3 hormones to help you ovulate. Worked for me with DS1, DS2 was conceived naturally (miracle!!) and am now on it again to conceive DC3. 'Clomid' is actually a brand name. It is often referred to by this brand name regardless of whether this brand or a generic one is used. Full name of the drug is Clomifene Citrate.

It's in tablet form. Usually comes as 50mg tablets which you take for 5 consecutive days near the beginning of your cycle (usually days 2-6 in my experience) If 50mg doesn't work, the dose may be increased to 100 mg (2 tablets) a day.

it's a pill I think

Mindiefez · 12/02/2011 11:06

I'm on month 9 of clomid - it is a pill, they usually start you on 50mg and then do 21 day test to check you are ovulating. If its less than 30 i think, they will bump you up to 100mg and then retest. you can only take it for 12 months tho.....

oh and some happy side effects include nausea, hot flushes, mood swings and tiredness
