Right - we've been trying for 16 months, periods a week late, boobs are tender and hot, taken a tesco p.test about an hour ago and it was a strong positive Shock. Parntner is at work laying bricks (why am i telling you that? lol)Neither of us are going to be convinced untill he gets home tonight and i take another test. Questions .... are tesco tests reliable? Can you get a stonking great false positive ?? (I'm not on any drugs or treatments) CAN WE CELEBRATE DO YOU THINK? I so dont want to get our hopes up for nothing ...

Congratulations Grin

False positives are very, very rare.

Let us know for sure this evening (but I think notnowbernard has got it right).

Oh, Congratulations! Grin

LankyLegs · 09/02/2011 18:12

Congrats misty sounds like it is a positive! I too also love hearing stories of BFPs when people have been trying for a while. Gives the rest of us hope that have been at it for a while with no success!

I hope you both have fun celebrating! Well deserved!

WidowWadman · 09/02/2011 18:29

I've done a tesco test (well, 5) when I fell pregnant with my daughter. Strong line definitely is a strong line. Congratulations.

ghosteditor · 09/02/2011 18:51

oh congrats!!!

yousankmybattleship · 09/02/2011 18:53

Wow! I think you can celebrate. How exciting for you.

BabyMaking2011 · 09/02/2011 20:13

congratulations!!!!!!!!

Well ladies - Yay! I've done TWO more tests this afternoon and they too are positive! I think this it it then! Lol. I've done my sums and i'm 3 weeks gone. How sweet of you all to send me your good wishes. DO NOT give up hope if your' trying. We've done nothing special since the first 3 or 4 months - just 'got on with it' when we fancied it, whatever the date. My OH is stunned, overjoyed in fact as he thought it wasn't going to happen and that he was impotent. To cut a long story short he has no kids of his own - i have, and he has been a wonderful father to them for the last 3 years. I thought we would probably be keeping the pregnancy a secret for a few weeks - however when i told him about the first test earlier he aparently told all the lads on the building site there and then! Ha ha - oh well, so much for discretion.

I love reading about BFPs! Lovely news.

apples82 · 10/02/2011 14:14

I used a tescos own PT to find out, and then did 2 Clearblue's after to make doubley and tripley sure.

Clearblues are about double the price of Tescos own, but there is no faintness of lines, its either a strong cross for pregnant, or just a dash for not pregnant.

I think a congratulations are in order for you both!!!

excitedLJ · 10/02/2011 19:37

I love this!! Yay for you, and I especially love that your OH was so excited he told everyone within earshot!

Weirdly (considering I don't know you) this wee story has made my day Smile xx
