why I bleed a week after ovulating? Or why I ovulate so late in my cycle? What is this blood test looking for at the beginning of the cycle? Thanks! X

These blood tests give a 'baseline' level of oestrogen, FSH and LH - ie before everything starts to change as the next follicle grows. They give an indication of conditions like PCOS and other hormonal conditions and ovarian reserve. Just a part of the battery of tests. I don't think they'll answer all your questions but they are something gynaecologists look at when assessing the whole picture

Lots of good info here , though not all of the tests you see here are in the Day 1 to 5.
