any tips for concieving greatly appreciated

been trying 18mths or so, i already have 4 from a previous relationship and my partner has a son with his x. Just so stressed that nothing happened despite a very active sex life. I eat well, am average weight, get exercise, i have the odd drink and ive given up smoking. Doctors have said they wont do much cause of my age and the fact that i already have 4. Im 33, 34 in may.

Have you considered charting to understand your cycles. It is quite intense and it does make you a bit crazy and obsessive but if you are a control freak like me or fancy it, come visit us over here!

im crazy anyway! i must be as i have 4 and a stepson and am wanting another. Not got a clue how to chart my cycle..ive never had to do it before..so im new to this..aint got a clue really. Every month that goes by i get more disheartened and disappointed. Maybe im trying too hard..

Do you have regular cycles? If you do then there should be a general window of opportunity where you can go for it. That would be, say Days 8-18 before your AF is due, you could do it every other day. Good luck!

have you tried monitoring your temperature? We had been trying for over a year with DS and once we found out when I was actually ovulating it only took a month. We did it with DD and I got pregnant immediately. I ovulate at day 8 rather than the day 14 that all the doctors bang on about. If you put basal temperature into Google it should bring up some charts for you to print off.

I found the clear blue fertility monitor and noticing Egg White Cervical Mucus really useful.

Temping I found a pain in the proverbial and impossible to keep up with.

Go on holiday during ovulation, and relax with your guy. Worked for me, and we struggled for a long time, partly due to PCOS. But we conceived naturally whilst away on hols. I've also been told that taking Agnus Castus is a great help for conception. A little expensive, but pretty worth it. Good luck

I know it sounds easy to say but.... try to forget about it and continue having sex. I am sure that if you obsess about it, it actually does not help. But then again I am no specialist....

Don't waste any time-I had children from previous relationship and tried for a few years with new man before getting help. Probably left it too late as turned out had endometriosis. Try LIFE charity- they help with charting (think the first session is free)to identify any problems which might be preventing conception taking place and do natural procreative technology (which they claim has success rates comparable to IVF). Hope everything works out well for you.

Aged 33, trying for 18 months, I think I'd go back to the GP. Not necessarily anything wrong as sometimes it just takes that long, but if there was something and it was easily fixed, you're better off getting checked sooner rather than later.

I would ask for tests, a 'normal' cycle length may still be hiding fertility problems and although you OH already has a child it's worth getting him checked out too.

Buy 'taking charge of your fertility', available on amazon. Helps you understand your body and signs to chart. I found it very helpful!

yea they exist..we've know each other since we were 8/9 yrs old so we are very much suited to each other..only took 15/16 yrs for us to realise it!!
