like it Jolls, though age order would have been good too Wink
Tina Sorry for af Sad Are there no investigations they would order at all? Would ABs be of any use now if indeed you had been infected for a year? Sorry, not very helpful, but do hope you can get something sorted to out your mind at rest x

TinaO99 · 28/02/2011 14:19

hi diege no theyve done all they can on the nhs, what are ABs Blush??

hippychick66 · 28/02/2011 14:19

AGE ORDER!!!! GOD FORBID!!!

Diege · 28/02/2011 14:23

Grin Hippy you could shout up the list to me with your bistro order?
Sorry Tina, ABs = Antibiotics Grin

BeattieBow · 28/02/2011 14:31

sorry I added myself to the list and ran!

tina sorry about af turning up.

diege go on test woman!

hippy yes, am completely preoccupied with the move now. Have been contacting schools all weekend and have lots of emails now! it's v exciting. there are actually a couple of possibilities which sound good.

have just realised I have my injections for Vietnam on Friday - presumably I ought to test before then as these could be contraindicated (or whatever!) in pregnancy?

TinaO99 · 28/02/2011 14:47

sorry diege I'm so dense at times lol, yes they will kill off the infection anyway to ensure we're free of it but they just can't ascertain how likely it is that it's done any permanent damage, the Dr did say she thought it was unlikely to have caused any long term damage but couldn't be certain

hippychick66 · 28/02/2011 14:58

tina how awful for you. All very stressful but hopefully it hasn't caused long term damage.((()))

diege yes I noticed we were next to each other for now Grin Bezzie mates an' all that jazz.

I know exactly what you mean about getting your hopes up. I'm 12 days post ov too and despite having browny-pink cm I'm still holding out a slither of hope (stupid woman face icon). I hope you turn out to be right.

i booked a reflexology session for next week when i should be on about day 9/10. I suddenly realised that the only times I'd got pregnant recently (not counting the boys) was when my lady encouraged my ovaries through my feet. She did it both times just before I ov'd and got a BFP and even though it didn't actually give me a take home baby it did at least encourage inplantation (maybe) so with the right egg it could make a difference Hmm.

i also have to squeeze in a smear (we are twins diege) as I got a reminder letter last month. I know I have to wait for the period to end but I want to do the smear before I ov so that doesn't give me much of a window. Does it matter if you have a smear whilst TTC??? Anyone know?

Diege · 28/02/2011 15:10

Hi Twinny! Well on the smear front ideally they say (my practice) that you should indeed put ttc-ing on hold (if you are high risk like me) as the treatment you would need for abnormal cells isn't great when pregnant. For low-risk though, any treatment could be postponed until after baby was born. I am putting off my due smear until after my birthday anyway to give me a few extra months of being younger when ttc-ing Blush. That's very sad I know! I have also enquired about a private smear as the turnaround time for results is 6-8 weeks at out dr's Shock.

hippychick66 · 28/02/2011 15:44

I've never had a bad result so am expecting it to be all clear again [hopeful face]. I just wondered if the actual act of taking a smear off the cervix could effect an inplantation taking place a week later - that kinda thing. I might wait one more month - especially as I'm paying for reflexology this month and don't want to cock up a good chance. Still got the odd tweak in the boobs but also lots of yucky brown CM so i know deep down that the 11/11/11 baby thing is over for me. Sorry if anyone is eating chocolate mousse right now Grin.

Am getting worried about lou. She's not been on today - is no news good news???

Diege · 28/02/2011 16:03

Re: effecting implantation apparently not...in fact I had a smear when I would have been one week-post conception with dd3 I think the only reason they don't do them in pregnany inthe UK (I know they do in the USA) is that the results can be difficult to read. I had very dodgy smears about 5 years ago now, had treatment, and have had 4 normal smears since (I have them annually). My last was March 2010 so if by any chance I am pregnant this month I won't sweat it, but would probably book one next month and take a ttc break if not, just to get it out of the way. I think even if you do get a dodgy result and then find out you're pregnant they don't treat as the cells won't change that much in 9 mths anyway.
I have also been thinking about Lou and wondering how things are. Hoping you're ok Lou if you are lurking xx

hippychick66 · 28/02/2011 16:21

The last few months AF has come in with a couple of days of pink/brown. Sometimes very brown (which is apparently old blood from last month- lazy stuff huh - takes a whole month to get out!).

Thanks for the advice about smears. i hate them. Always worry that once I am clamped up, a fire alarm is gonna go off and I'm gonna end up in the car park with my nunu prized apart - Shock I did actually tell one of the nurses this and she laughed and assured me she would un-clamp me! jolls I know you are shaking your head and laughing at me right now!

Diege · 28/02/2011 16:29

do you think they would wheel you out on a trolly with blue paper towels across your bits, or would you have to stagger? Now that would be a test of the old pelvic floor. I'm now worrying that, if I am pregnant, I will be harbouring nasty cells for 9 months...honestly, it's just a never ending onslaught of worry!

Diege · 28/02/2011 16:29

And that's interesting about old blood - who'd have thought it!

louisesh · 28/02/2011 17:54

Fantastic news lou, we can beathe a sigh of relief now, phew. I know you'll stick around until maybe the 12 week mark but we insist you stay until the very end.......that is until we've all had BFPs and are holding babes in arms Smile

OP posts:
hippychick66 · 28/02/2011 19:19

lou phew on the bold second line. Now stop testing, for the love of all things holy!

ShockShock at the fact that my whole fire alarm/smear test thing did actually happen - WHY DID YOU TELL ME THAT???? Grin

diege please wee into a pot tomorrow morning (nice strong sample) put one of those tests you found in it for about 20 seconds, wait 5 minutes, look at the results and post them on here - DO IT WOMAN!

SHOUTING a lot tonight arn't I.

Off to a friends for a good old natter now, always enjoy seeing her and usually keep chatting until about mid-night. See you all tomorrow.

PS. diege - DO IT.

hippychick66 · 28/02/2011 19:22

I meant DO IT in caps and bold but it didn't work Blush

Secondary school results getting emailed to me tonight but I don't really care what local s chool we get cos we are moving (did I tell you?)

Diege · 28/02/2011 20:14

Lou excellent news!!! Grin Grin Grin. Now for the love of god woman stop testing!!!! I'm surprised you even produced any line at all over the weekend with your constant weeing Grin
I think I may wait a day or two before testing - just because the tests I have aren't esp sensitive and should be used when af is late. Now on paper my af is late going on past form, but not really late if they're looking at the normal 14 days post-ov late. So ahem yes, will test end of week GrinOh and curly is right Lou - we're locking the door and throwing the snug key away until you have your baby!

Diege · 28/02/2011 20:15

Eh??? Moving?? must have missed that one...Any where nice?

OooohShiny · 28/02/2011 21:31

Lou....Woooohooo, fabulous news, so pleased for you

waves to everyone else - just popping in really as I'm trying to keep myself busy getting my new studio space ready.....stops me thinking about another month gone
