what do you all take and would you recommend them? I have (when I remember) been taking pregnacare but its very expensive when you don't actually manage to get pregnant.
do you just stick with folic acid or do you take a multi-vit? and more importantly do you think they do anything?
just interested really as my pack is nearly finished and i'm thinking of a change...

asda put a card thing through my door saying in their baby and toddler event (which i think is now) they are selling pregnacare for £2 (30 tabs)

I took sanatgen pre-natal form 3 months before TTC (I got a pack of 90 for £6 is asda when they were on offer) and i got a couple conception pack too, so OH and me took those for the month before we tried (he had been taking zinc for the prevouse 3 month)

I got pg straight away, 1st month of trying., and now taking pregna care which i got on 3 for 2 at boots

however im now 8 weeks and experiancing severe morning sickness so gone back to folic acid for a few days as i keep vomiting pregnacare back up Sad

I always just took the folic acid and tried to get the rest from loads of fruit, veg, good food.

Good luck!

nannyl have you tried taking the pregnacare before you go to bed? I had same problem when pg with DD, couldn't keep them down in the morning, but easier a couple of hours after I'd had my tea. HTH

ninja I take folic acid and a general multi-vit with minerals tablet from Boots. I'm saving the pregnacare til I am actually pregnant - can't afford it otherwise! On days like today when insomnia kept me awake most of the night, I have Berocca too.

hmm, this is interesting. I usually take omega 3 for vegetarians and a multi-vit and mineral pill (am veggie and TTC #1). However, I've stopped taking the multi vit as it says it is not suitable for women who are pregnant or may fall pregnant (I guess because of the vitamin A) and have been taking folic acid.

I saw a thread on here the other day asking for advice about vitamin A as it is included in US pre-natal pills but not the UK versions, so maybe that has some answers. The pregnacare pills are an absolute rip off at my local supermarket but I will be looking for some kind of vit + mineral pill that's suitable if and when I fall pregnant, however expensive they may be Hmm.

any advice?

[wanders off to look at vit A thread].
