Hello Ladies,

I am looking for the best way to find out when I am ovulating. Would you recommend charting, using persona sticks (I have a monitor that is 5years old) or clearblue test sticks?

I have been recommended the clearblue monitor but I don't think that I will be able to afford to buy it.

I guess I am asking for the cheapest and most accurate ovulation tests sticks that you can recommend.

TIA

Hi,
I've bought some cheapie Amazon ones

www.amazon.co.uk/Highly-Sensitive-Ovulation-Fertility-Strips/dp/B001G7P62S/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1296560819&sr=8-1

They get good reviews and I know a lot of people on here use them and they're fine. They're certainly better value for money than a lot of the other ones. However, they don't always pick up my LH surge so I've had to go back to the more expensive Clear Blue digital

www.amazon.co.uk/Clearblue-Digital-Ovulation-Testing-Kit/dp/B000KU710W/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1296560909&sr=8-2

Good luck!

Logging your temperature in the morning is a good indicator, and cheap, but you need to chart for quite a while to assess patterns and calculate best time. Also, pinpointing time to try can be a bit erratic if your cycle is not regular.

Clearblue monitor worked first month for me. I know it seems expensive but better than months of stress. Would still do temperature too in case you need to discuss with doctor in the event you don't conceieve. It will help figure out what's going on.

I buy cheapies from a website called Access Diagnosis, they have all sorts of other fertiltiy stuff to. Then I would use the site Fertility Friend and log your temps and CM. Basic service is free and it can help you identify ovulation. Although like jcp said you need to chart for a bit to see patterns etc - it will tell you you have ovulated only after the event, when you see a temp rise.
