bfp on day of conception

hi ladies, a bit about me, im 22 engaged and v happy i have 1 dd aged 2 and 1 mmc in august 2010 i was ttc for 3 months before getting my bfp, i just had a scan after some spotting and was expecting to see a 7+4 foetus but instead i saw a 5 week gestational sack with nothing in it and working on those dates i must have concieved on the 4th jan the same day i got my bfp, is that possible? im really hoping its not another mmc please give me some hope x

I'm really sorry to hear that. Can't offer you too much hope I'm afraid as it isn't possible to get a bfp till at least 8dpo even on the most sensitive tests. However it is possible that a scan that early is not accurate yet. The only thing to do is wait and see if it grows over the next week. Have you been given a date for a repeat scan?
I know the worrying and waiting is awful, I've been there myself and it didn't turn out to be good news for me, but fingers crossed it will be better for you this time. Will the docs do blood test to see if levels are doubling?

did you test very early and get a very faint line? or did you wait until AF was due and get a strong line? just trying to gauge how many days post ovulation you thought you were when you got your BFP.
But to answer your question, no, its not possible to get a BFP until around 7days post conception, and even then, its incredibly unusual and it would be a very very faint line!
I cant bring myself to say you are having a MMC, but I dont want to give you any false hope either.

i know what you mean about the false hope sickof my dp keeps saying to me dont feel bad til we know for sure but i do know its over and i want to grieve and get past it so i can have 1 more go, kat2504 they took blood today and will do it again thursday and get the results same day then i might get a scan but not booked in for 1 yet, i tested 3 days after af was due and it was faint with cheap test and tested same day with clear blue digi wich came up 1-2 weeks but suspected something was wrong when it didnt rise to 3+ weeks after 2 weeks x

I'm really sorry that's awful. Seems like the pregnancy has never really got started properly, sometimes with MMC your body starts growing the sac but no baby grows at all, it just stays the same as when it implanted or something like that. That was what i understood by blighted ovum anyway. Doesn't make it any easier when it happens to you though. It isn't over yet but is good to be prepared for bad news. Hopefully you may still get a miracle, if not am wishing you a speedy recovery and better luck soon.

thankyou, my oh just made me some dinner (a cup of coffee a malteser easter bunny and a full madiera cake) im sure it will help me on my way, i will deffinitely try again though, its worth risking because i will either get a healthy baby or it will be investigated as a 3rd miscarriage usually is thanks for your help x
