Welcome to another thread everybody, George and Jake are standing by to do our bidding and have pina coladas for the waiters and sick buckets for the upduffed!

For anyone who is wondering "what the blazers is a WIIT?", the back story is that we all waited to ttc together for a long time and we are now variously still waiting, actively trying or upduffed.

WYorksLass · 31/01/2011 16:18

Wow Strawberry, that is fantsatic news. I am so pleased for you :-)
There's definitely something in the finger crossing!

MrsSatsuma · 31/01/2011 16:40

Congratulations strawberry!

Just you and me now Whywait out of the TTC ones - come on lucky train, help us out here!!!

I'm probably placing way too much importance on getting a BFP asap... I can't help feeling that if I can work only part time as a teacher, and the rest of the time as a mum, I'll be a lot happier and less prone to panic attacks. I don't think it'll be easier (far from it!) but I'll be doing it because I'll love my children rather than because I have to... plus it's hard to love 400 of other people's kids sometimes! I also won't have to give my own children national curriculum levels. Hmph.

bebejones · 31/01/2011 18:43

Congratulations Strawberry!!! Told you it wasn't over til AF arrived...or didn't in your case! Wink

MrsS - Just because you look fine doesn't mean you aren't ill! Trust me, I know! And it doesn't make what you are going through any less serious. Take care of yourself & don't beat yourself up too much! :)

AmandaCooper · 31/01/2011 23:12

Well aren't I late to the party?! Congratulations Strawberry, I'm so pleased to hear your good news. We knew you were!

Thanks bebe and AC!

Get well soon jbells, sounds like you are having a rough time :(

bebejones · 01/02/2011 08:50

Morning all! Feeling rubbish & really low. Need to snap myself out of this black mood, it's getting worse with every day & now the nightmares are back again.

We (DH & I) came to the conclusion last night that the chest pains I have been getting on & off since last April are actually MS related & are a thing called 'MS Hugs'! Feel mega miserable about it & DH is being really flipant 'Oh well, at least you know it's not something more serious'! Hmm I really need not to google anymore! :( Will bring it up with the consultant next week. A bit cross that 2 doctors & specialist nurses haven't picked up that what I was experiencing was an MS related thing for which they could have given me medication!! Maybe it will spur DH on....doubt it!

Plus today a friend of mine from school has said she is going to TTC. She has a DS the same age as DD & said she never wanted any more! So feel a bit Envy about that but happy for her at the same time IYKWIM?

JBells - Hope you are feeling better today, that's the joy of pregnancy that you get pretty much every bug going!

macaronicanelloni · 01/02/2011 09:04

Poor bebe :( It sounds like your DH means well - mine would probably say a similar thing. At least you know what it is now, although I can completely see why you're annoyed that it hasn't been picked up on before. And stay away from google! :) If you're having nightmares perhaps you should see the doctor?

Someone at work was talking about her pregnancy and saying that it was great and everyone should get pregnant... I felt like saying 'alright, I am trying!!'.

Off work again... got as far as getting dressed but then got too scared to go in. Going to see doctor this morning. Feel like a rag doll!!

Note to self: in order to name change properly, remember to change back when posting in usual thread!!!!!!!!

MrsSatsuma · 01/02/2011 14:35

Update... doc has given me diazepam so that I can go into work without fear of panic attack. I'm a bit scared of taking it, and also dubious that it will do anything! He reckons I need to work part time but can only do that when I get pregnant... so on goes the cycle of trying, waiting and hoping!

Hope you are feeling better bebe. It's veyr quiet on here today! Or maybe it usually is and I'm just noticing it as I'm not at work?!

WYorksLass · 01/02/2011 15:09

MrsS, don't be scared about taking the tablets. I've had them in the past due to a fear of flying. They didn't do anything scary like make me pass out or do weird stuff but did take the edge off the fear.
My Dr did advise me to take one as a test though (before the day of the flight) as apparently they can knock some people out. That might be an idea for you.

strawberrypie · 01/02/2011 17:10

Good news about the diazepam Mrs Satsuma, I hope it helps x

I have booked my appointment with the midwife for in 2 weeks, I've got to go and pick up some info from the GP tomorrow

..........and.........

I'm getting married! (Shotgun wedding alert!)

It will probably be a very small ceremony (no wedding dress/bridesmaids etc) followed by afternoon tea with family then a party in the evening :)

MrsSatsuma · 01/02/2011 17:39

Good grief, you don't like to do things be halves do you strawberry?! Congratulations!!

bebejones · 01/02/2011 18:02

Ooooh Strawberry! How exciting! When's the big day? Before you start showing? I love a wedding! :o

MrsS - fingers crossed the diazepam helps. Can't hurt to give it a go.

squirrel007 · 01/02/2011 18:20

Congratulations again strawberry Grin Tell us more about the proposal, and your wedding plans!

jbells hope you have got over your bug now, it doesn't sound like fun :(

bebe that's annoying about the nurses not picking up the symptoms. Hope you can talk to the consultant about it at your next appointment though and get some help.

mrssatsuma I hope the diazepam helps too :) I know the feeling that you're just waiting for life to happen, but is there any way you can talk to work and try and make things a bit better now? Are you hoping to go part-time once you're pg, or after baby is here?

Things are good here, not too much going on though! I have a 4 day week this week, so am half-way through now Grin

strawberrypie · 01/02/2011 21:30

Thanks guys!

There wasn't really a proposal, more of a discussion about whether to get married before or after the baby (hopefully) arrives. We decided on before so are thinking of the Thurday before the Royal Wedding. I will be about 16 weeks.

I must admit marriage has never been a big deal for me partly because my inner feminist rebels against the patriarcal traditions involved but we are going to do it our way :)

I am exited though, I hope we can plan everything in time! We also thought it would be nice to tell everyone about the pregnancy at the party (all being well).

I know lots of you have told people much earlier than that but I want to try to leave it as long as possible if I can. How big are you at 16 weeks?

strawberrypie · 01/02/2011 21:49

Oh no I am sorry Whywait :(

I'm really gutted for you. Who knows what good things are going to happen in the next few months, though. You do deserve some good fortune
