Welcome to another thread everybody, George and Jake are standing by to do our bidding and have pina coladas for the waiters and sick buckets for the upduffed!

For anyone who is wondering "what the blazers is a WIIT?", the back story is that we all waited to ttc together for a long time and we are now variously still waiting, actively trying or upduffed.

Don't worry, not consultants for a couple of weeks yet. Just DH needs to book time off well in advance. But now he has had to take on yet another role (Thank you very much FIL Angry) and it's in a customer facing enviroment & they have to have 2 staff members there at all times. So if he can't get cover (There are only 2 of them) then he can't come. It's so ridiculous, he is senior management & due to cost cuttings he is being foced into yet another full time position & now he won't be able to come home earlier (bear in mind he starts work in the office at 7am, and works most evenings at home after coming home at 4/5) and he won't be able to take any holiday at all for the forseeable. It's totally ridiculous.

AC - How cute having a kitten sitter! :o

Strawberry - any news?

strawberrypie · 28/01/2011 09:00

Rubbish news here this morning- no line on the pg test at all :(

It's still only CD26 and my temps are rising so we'll see what happens. I've got a feeling they will go down over the weekend and AF will arrive on Monday though.

I'm meeting some friends for a girly weekend next week though so will be able to have a few glasses if not pg and not worry about excuses for not drinking!

WYorksLass · 28/01/2011 12:24

I've had my booking in appointment this morning. They have given me so many books, leaflets etc it's unbelieveable, there is about 2 bags of stuff!

Anyway, the good news is i am low risk. Really looking forward to my scan in 2.5 weeks now :-)

MrsSatsuma · 28/01/2011 14:09

Wow, we're on the third page already!

bebe I know it's a while off but good luck with the appointment. Your DH's workload does sound immense... I know it's a tricky situation but is there any way he can talk to his dad about it? Just a thought...don't mena to speak out of turn or anything but if he doesn't enjoy it would it ever be feasible to change jobs? Is he there because he wants to be or out of family loyalty?

WYorks Nice to see you back! Sorry to hear you've been ill. good luck for the scan.

AC Have had a look at pic of your very cute new fluffball - he is adorable!!

strawberry sorry no line. It's rubbish isn't it?! Hopefully it will happen for us both next month. I did try the sperm meets egg plan (or thought I had - OPK sticks and basal chart seem to be a couple of days out of sync with each other so maybe I timed it wrong...).

Speaking of which, can anybody advise me? When exactly is basal temp supposed to dip/rise in relation to ovulation? Does it rise immediately after releasing egg? I got nearest to +ve on the sticks on the Sat, and definite -ve Sun and Mon, but temp didn't rise until Tue morning. Hmmm.

Am feeling fairly rubbish today... CBT on Tuesday was ok but all the suggestions she made about making my life less stressful I'm already doing - I don't think there's anything else I can do unless I didn't ever do any planning for school, which would stress me anyway as I'd be unprepared! Had another panic attack on the way to work this morning, and ended up coming home without having been to any lessons. Now sat at home in the warm and feeling better. Everyone was very nice and understanding, apart from my boss who still seems to think I just need to pull myself together, and that it'll take about half an hour to feel better (it takes at least a few hours). He started going on about following procedure in circumstances such as these, and that we had done so thus far, etc etc. Luckily his boss was far nicer about it all and actually asked how I was and told me not to worry at all if I wasn't feeling up to it. I did wonder if my boss would have been nicer about it had I come out in spots or thrown up or had some other kind of physical symptom!

bebejones · 28/01/2011 15:58

Strawberry - Don't give up hope yet. It's not over until AF arrives! Wink Hope you are ok?

MrsS - Unfortunately DH isn't really 'qualified' to do anything other than what he is already doing, and it's just a particularly rough area to be working in right now. He feels tied to the company & if he left it would put a big strain on his relationship with his dad. Plus he doesn't drive so he is restricted as to where he can go to work! Just hoping something 'gives' before he does! :(

So sorry you are feeling rubbish today. Do you have more sessions booked for CBT? Or do you think that it won't help? DHs panic attacks are fairly rare, but I expect if his work load carries on the way it is we are in for another bout of them. It's terrifying for him & awful to watch, so I know how rubbish they can make you feel.

Had a lovely lunch out with DD today, she was so well behaved I was so proud of her! :) She looked so grown up sat in the chair in the cafe though. Where has my baby gone?! :(

AmandaCooper · 29/01/2011 11:19

Mrs the OV sticks will tell you that OV is approaching. The bbt rise will tell you when the egg has been released. I haven't tried the OV sticks yet but Bebe recommends them I seem to remember.

I have some, but not used them...yet! Didn't want to waste them!! Dead cheap on amazon though :)

Aw Bebe that's sweet about your DD. She's so bonny!

squirrel007 · 29/01/2011 17:06

Hi all!

mrssatsuma hope you're feeling better now, and hope your boss starts being a bit more sympathetic.

wyorks I too got a huge wad of stuff when I told the docs I was pg - most of it turned out to be advertising for nappies though, so I threw a lot of it out.

strawberry sorry that there was no line on the 2nd test :( Testing and waiting is all a bit of a rollercoaster.

Had a relaxed day here today and am looking forward to going out to a music thing with DH tonight. Plus I ordered some maternity jeans which arrived today (am short, and most shops only have short online) and they are very comfy. They fit much better than the size-bigger ones I've been wearing, which just looked too big.

Hope you're all having good weekends!

I'm here... off work as feeling rubbish again. Alternating between feeling bad for being off when I'm not physically ill, and thinking there's no way I could have gone in as way too wobbly so I shouldn't feel bad just because I don't have spots/vomiting! Felt okay at weekend but as soon as I started thinking about all the stuff I've got to do, and having to do things at certain times (sets me off as I'm always terrified of being late), and having to be on show (I find teaching a bit like being on stage) I got all tense and panicky. I can't help thinking that the only thing that'll help is working part time, which isn't an option until we have child/ren.

Sorry for downbeat nature of post... just feeling so rubbish!

WYorksLass · 31/01/2011 11:45

Big hugs for MrsSatsuma ((((((())))))))

Well, i've had an eventful morning. Over the weekend i had a tiny amount of spotting, really tiny, about 4 spots in all! Anyway, i rang the midwife this morning for reassurance and ended up at the GP's with a referral to the Early Pregnancy unit :-(

The doctor was very reassuring though and said as it was such a small amount and i'm not in pain it will probably be fine. The earliest they could get me in for a scan is Wednesday though so i am a little bit scared now. Thankfully though no spotting so far today.

Please keep your fingers crossed for me and i hope the lucky train works it's magic.

squirrel007 · 31/01/2011 12:08

whywait sounds like a hectic weekend!! When do you hear about the teaching?

mrssatsuma really sorry you're feeling bad again :( is there no way to go part time even before kids?

wyorkslass I had spotting on and off around weeks 7-10, but nothing was wrong. It is scary to see blood, but it really is common (think 100years had it too) and unless it's proper bleeding or with pain, chances are it's all fine. In fact, when I told my mw she didn't suggest any referrals or early scans. Hope things go well on Wednesday :)

I think I overdid it this weekend with late night on Sat and a day out yesterday, and ended up in bed at 9 last night! Am like a zombie this morning too. Am keeping my head down and hoping no-one wants to talk to me :)

MrsSatsuma · 31/01/2011 12:46

No, I can't go part time halfway through the year because timetables are all set. We also need the money and I'd just feel like a failure because of having no real reason for it. Bleurgh.

WYorks I think squirrel has given good advice - not having been pregnant ever I can't speak from experience, but I've read comments from loads of MNers who have had spotting and I gather it's quite normal. Good that you've got a scan to put your mind at rest but I'm sure it'll all be fine :)

WYorksLass · 31/01/2011 12:47

Thanks squirrel, that makes me feel a bit better. To be honest i nearly didn't even mention it to the midwife and when i did i expected her to tell me it was nothing. I think they are just covering themselves.

I'm very tired today too. Fortunately i have no work to do :-) My boss keeps telling me there is something in the pipeline but nothing has materialised yet, sadly i have to stay at work twiddling my thumbs!

WYorksLass · 31/01/2011 12:49

x-post, thanks MrsS.
You are not a failure, you do have a real reason for being off. Having had panic attacks myself i know how horrible it can be. I had 3 months off school as a teenager for that very reason.

mrswantstobeamum · 31/01/2011 14:18

Hi ladies, thanks for the warm welcome back! I've caught up on most of the last thread, but there is no way I will be able to read all of the threads since I left in August/September, so forgive me if I missed any major developments. I do seem to have missed the addition of George, Jake, and the Gruffalo to the thread! Jake, I'll have a virgin mojito, please!

I've got a very active bean and am loving all of the sweet little kicks I'm getting these days. DH hasn't quite been able to feel them yet, but they're getting stronger every day, so it shouldn't be long now! I'm very impatiently waiting for our scan on Thursday.

Apparently my nesting instinct has kicked in early as I keep coming up with house projects which need to be done before the baby arrives - clearing out the loft, painting the kitchen and touching up paint in other rooms, organising and cleaning virtually everything in the house in great detail, etc. Luckily, DH is very obliging and has been willing to do all of the heavy lifting and climbing on ladders!

Nannyl, 100years, and WYorksLass, I'm so sorry you're having a rough time with the MS. I was lucky in not getting it too bad, but I did find that actively managing my hunger really helped. Even now at 20 weeks, if I let myself get too hungry I immediately feel sick; this was much more the case during the first trimester. Snacking regularly really helped, and for me the advice about eating a couple of biscuits before even getting out of bed really worked. Hang in there, as you are likely to feel much better by the 12-week mark. You've got plenty of time to eat healthfully and put on weight then.

Bebe, my heart really goes out to you regarding the difficulty you're having getting DH on board with TTC. Although I haven't yet had my first, I am certain that I would also feel incomplete with only one child, so I can imagine how you must be feeling. I really hope he comes around soon.

Jbells, 12 lbs is completely normal at your stage! I'm at 20+3 and have put on 15 lbs, so don't feel bad!

Squirrel, your bump will soon turn hard practically overnight, so don't worry!

Strawberry, don't be discouraged by the lack of a second line so far. It's still a bit early to test, so keep your hopes up! My fingers are crossed for you.

MrsS, sorry about AF. Good luck with the next cycle!

As everyone is in different stages of waiting to TTC, TTC, and pregnancy, maybe we could do a quick status update? Here's my info:

Hi everyone,

Don't feel guilty about being off work MrsS- I think you are doing really well, especially as you are not getting much support from your boss. Anybody who has suffered with or knows anybody that has had panic attacks understands that they are very serious and not something you can just 'work through'! Take care of yourself, don't worry about anyone else (big hug)

Hope things are going ok with you Bebe :)

wyorks, it sounds like the midwife is just being extra-cautious about the spotting. I hope everything is fine on wed- I'm sure it will be!

Well done with all the children Whywait! good practice for when you start your PGCE (positive thinking!)

Hi mrswantstobe, wow about the kicking! how amazing!

well, some good news here.........AF was due Woday so I decided to test again and guess what............BFP! :)

I can't believe it and am a little bit in shock! Eeeeeek!
