POAS on Sunday, got a BFN. Fair enough. Tried again first thing today and the test indicator didn't even show! There was no line on the diamond bit, even though the absorbent bit went pink.

I can't even POAS properly! Had no trouble when testing with my DCs though. Weird.

And now I have another day to wait. Pah.

I really doubt I am pregnant but AF is at least a week late. So where is it? I know the old chestnut about stress stopping it but that has never ever happened before, even at incredibly stressful times I've had periods like clockwork.

I don't Geddit :(

Complain and get them to send you a new one. Must be very very annoying though.

Really? I figured I just hadn't weed for long enough. Or my aim was off.

Tis possible but if the control line didn't appear at all I'd say there was something up with it. Is there a contact number on the instructions?

NinjaChipmunk · 25/01/2011 09:18

I always pee in a pot. Much easier!

FreudianSlippery · 25/01/2011 09:40

The line finally showed up. It's fine that it is a BFN but where is my period?!? I'm never late.

I've gone and scared myself thinking about ectopic pregnancy - apparently HCG is lower, but would that mean I'd get a BFN?

Would a GP even listen if I hadn't had a BFP? I've been feeling sick, dizzy etc, not as much as with my previous healthy pregnancies but still noticeable.

I'm worried :(

If you are worried then get down to the docs. Better safe than sorry iykwim?

FreudianSlippery · 25/01/2011 10:01

Absolutely. What would a GP do - if I have had two BFNs does that totally rule it out? Just can't think what else it would be. I think I'll phone NHS direct as there are no appointments at the surgery.

I think with ectopic after a week with no AF you'd prob get a bfp. Worth getting yourself some advice though to put mind at ease. GP may even do blood tests if you're really worried that would be conclusive.
If it's any consolation I couldn't POAS properly, wouldn't have minded but it was a bloody expensive clearblue digital! What a waste. Bah!
Let us know what happens.

Have spoken to a nurse at NHSDirect. She told me to go straight to the walk-in so my dad is going to take me.

That's good. I hope all is ok, let us know how you get on.

FreudianSlippery · 25/01/2011 14:55

Well that was surprising... Apparently I have a urine infection! Confused GP said it was pretty severe. I've not had 'that' sort of pain though... Hence me not realising. Apparently the symptoms are often similar to an ectopic, and can occasionally delay periods! Never knew that. It's bizarre.

Anyway, I'm not pregnant, which is a relief really as I'm trying to lose weight, save money etc to TTC in summer - but just in case, he's given me medicine that is safe to take.

Thanks for the supportive posts :)

Well at least you know what's going on and have some answers. UTIs get worse if not treated so good job you found it when you did. Hope you feel better soon.
