Clomid Cycle Question

I really should read dates on threads before posting - have added this to two very old Clomid threads!

Anyway, decided to start my own for some insight into wtf is going on with my body and if anyone else experienced similar with Clomid:

An on my first month of clomid, cd16. Had 2 mcs, my last one being a mmc in august last year and i have a 4yr old ds. I have PCOS and endometriosis.

Hope you don't mind me jumping in but I am very confused about my cycle so wondered if anyone could enlighten me as to whether this normal when taking clomid:

So cd2 - started Clomid

cd3,4,5,6,7,8 - was a total bitch with lots of abdominal pain, headaches etc. Dh even told me he considered telling me it wasn't worth it as he didn't know who I had become but kept reminding himself it was the drugs.

cd9,10 - swi, attitude/personality back to normal.

cd12 - had some spotting so presumed o had come early, boobs hurt, swi

cd14 - swi as gp had advised to def swi on this day.

cd16 (today) - blood streak discharge when I wiped. Have taken myself off to the bedroom since 4pm as actually want to kill dh (I know i am being a total bitch hence removing myself from him) and have had period pains for the past couple of hours.

You should be under the care of a gynae given your previous diagnoses. Is GP going to refer you?. I have both PCOS and endo and I needed diathermy (laser) surgery on my ovaries and uterus in order to conceive.

CD 3-8 sounds like the endometriosis was at work here too.

Spotting between periods should always be checked our further to ascerain the cause.

You should also be monitored whilst on clomid as not all PCOSers are suitable candidates to take this drug (it can increase LH levels markedly which can impede fertilisation).

Your case needs careful management and the GP is not the person to be doing this.

I am under the care of a gynae consultant although I do feel a little like I have been given the drug and sent on my way to either go back to gp for provera should my af not come and I am not pg this month or go back to the consultant for the appointment he has made me in 3 months time. There has been no talk of monitoring inbetween.

I had surgery for my endometriosis about 6 years ago and since I had ds (4yrs old) I haven't had as much trouble with it.

I have rung the hospital today and she has spoken to a doc who said everything I have discussed are side effects and to go to a&e if they become really bad but other than that I am to ride it out

I took it last month at 50 mgs from days 2-6 and felt like a balloon that laid multiple duck eggs by the end of it. Understandably when I told the GP this he didn't want to re-prescribe without going back to the consultant.

I don't know how irrational or otherwise I was as it was Christmas and I was so bloody relieved to see my family make it through the snow for the week that everything else seemed fairly irrelevant!! But I did have bloody scary/ weird dreams and was waking up grumpy.
The consultant has now sent me a prescription for more and told me not to worry as it all sounds normal to him. I, like you am a bit as well, felt pretty horrid to me. Hope it all turns out well for you

Hi Chloe, JR, I did post to you Chloe on another MC thread but its pretty busy on there and am not sure many of the lovely ladies have the pleasure of clomid

I had 5 cycles of clomid last year before I got a BFP which sadly ended in MMC early Jan. I have had most of the horrible side effects that it can give, so hot sweats, monster headaches, bloating and being an absolute mad woman. They're all pretty normal and we just have to put up with them :(

I am currently waiting for 1st AF post MC and will then be back on the clomid. I do get monitoring though, so scans to see my follies develop and then have to have an injection to release the egg. Do you know if you ovulate, have you had any tests to confirm? I know treatment varies radically by area, are you being treated on NHS?

It is awful to put up with but I did get a BFP on it, so am just hoping it works again. Fingers crossed for you guys too.

I seem to be coming across a lot of people who get mid cycle monitoring and wondered whether it was postcode lottery as to the care you get given, clearly I don't fall into that catchment

I must ovulate occassionally as I have been pg 3 times over 6 years, 2 resulting in MC. However, when I had the blood tests it showed I wasn't for those months I got tested which is prob due to the PCOS.

Been to have my blood pressure checked today as my head feels like it is about to explode when I move it, it is slightly higher than normal but not enough to be overly concerned about.

I guess it's just a waiting game...
