Stacey re the prevenar vaccine, your GP won't do it unless your child is considered at risk. We had to get it done privately - £150. Expensive but DS's life is worth more.

mumswish · 13/10/2005 08:19

congratulations Jen. I'm so pleased for you.

I stopped taking the pill 2 weeks last tuesday ago. I stopped on the Tues instead of the Friday but that was it. Apart from that I pretty much finished the packet. I think it may just be stress as we're trying to get a house at the mo.
I just wish it would hurry it up cos I need to know how long my cycles etc are

jersey · 13/10/2005 09:32

CONGRATULATIONS JEN, wow well done the first of the new thread.

Welcome Jeni more the merrier.

This is making me even more broody. Spoke to SIL with 5 week twins yesterday, she averages 1 hour sleep a night and 1 during the day at the moment!!!!!

Now hoping I don't have twins (they are in my side of family!).

staceym11 · 13/10/2005 11:12

well i think £150 is nothing compared to her life, am gunna phone doctors to book an appointment see if/where i can get it done privately.

HandbagAddiction · 13/10/2005 15:59

Only just caught up with you all....congratulations Jen - that's brilliant news and a great way to get the new thread off to a positive start!! .

Hello to Harriezb, Jag, Milosmum, Debbsy and Stacey. Hope you're all doing OK. I've got my fingers and toes crossed for you all.

Wishing everyone on the thread masses of babydust...........

JAG123 · 13/10/2005 16:57

Hi Handbag hope you are feeling well. Have you booked in with MW yet?

HandbagAddiction · 13/10/2005 17:09

Have an appointment with the midwife next Thurday when I will be 8+4. I'm doing OK but had a bad couple of days yesterday and today. Had a bit of a bleed yesterday morning...so with that and the thought that my symptons were easing, felt that everything was about to pear-shaped. Fortunately, my GP surgery is excellent and they booked me in for a scan at the EPU this morning. Reassuringly, I now appear to be the possessor of a 12mm long 7 week and 4 day old 'beany' with a good heartbeat! Big, big, big phew !

JAG123 · 13/10/2005 18:06

That must of been a worry for you. I'm glad you managed to get a scan & everything seems fine. I know a few people who experienced bleeding & all went on to have healthy babies. Unfortunately the worrying never ends does it. Make sure you put your feet up & get plenty of rest.

Good Morning all, How is everybody doing?

Sorry I am being a little uninteresting lately, Nothing to report, feeling alot better, I'm not feeling very optimistic(sp?) this cycle.

Micku5 · 14/10/2005 09:51

Hi.... nothing new to report, AF is about a week late but the three tests I've done are all -ve so it's a wait and see game at the moment. Is anyone else due to test soon?

puppy · 14/10/2005 10:07

Micku5 I'll keep my fingers crossed for you, have you thought of going to gp for a blood test?

homemama · 14/10/2005 10:07

Morning ladies, the cramps I was having seem to have gone but I am now so tired I could barely get up this morning. This is after going to bed with DS at 7pm last night as DH was out on the town. Of course this could all be down to life with an 11mth old rather than anything more exciting!
Hope you are all well!

I was reading another thread that quotes Roberst winston about you should have sex throughout your cycle too, not just the fertile period. My Dr said the same and I have been trying the every other day thing (well every 3 days) but I wondered what the science behind that was.

Am on cd10 and waiting for a smiley face,

staceym11 · 14/10/2005 12:54

know what you mean homemama my dd is 1 next week and a right handful, glad everything ok hangbag that sounds really promising!!! hope everyone else is good too, got to go stop dd from feeding all of her lunch to the cat!!!

Jen1209 · 14/10/2005 14:30

Hi all - thank you for all your lovely words and I hope my good luck rubs off on everyone else!!!

Booked in with Dr today and have been given a huge pack of stuff to read! Gonna take me forever... just waiting for date for scan and m/w apt now!

I am going to lurk round here for a bit as it doesn't feel quite real yet and I am so worried things may go wrong...

Hope everyone else is ok, off for the weekend at FIL's now,

J x

homemama · 14/10/2005 15:29

Jen, I'm just being nosey but how did you tell you DH?
You must have planned it so many ways but after such a long wait, did you just blurt it out?

OP posts:
JAG123 · 14/10/2005 19:02

Hi All

Homemama - Hope your tiredness is pg hormones & not just running round after a toddler . Will keep my fingers crossed for you.

Jane - We've been trying the same approach as you. Don't know what the science is behind it but it is just nice to relax & just do it for the fun of it. Think its better for DH as well he doesn't feel like he has to perform on demand.

I've been to see GP today about the sharp stitch like pains i have been having the last 2 mths & she suggested a scan to make sure everything is ok. I think its more to put my DM & DH's minds at rest than anything, with my history any twinge they frogmarch me to the docs.
Have got my 2nd reflexology session tomorrow lovely & relaxing might get to catch up on some sleep.
Take Care All J

staceym11 · 14/10/2005 19:30

i think the science behind the doing it all month round is that it keeps a fresh new enviograted stock of sperm handy for when your egg pops out! now isnt that a lovely picture!!!!

jane313 · 15/10/2005 18:15

lol at fresh new invigortated sperm.. Not like that dusty sperm that Graham Norton always said that Michael Douglas had.
